この度は、本製品をお買い上げいただきまして誠にありがとうございます。
本製品を使用して本体装置を安全にお使いいただくために、ここで説明する注意事項を必ず読み、ご理解・ご確認し、
安全にご活用ください。
また、本製品を本体装置に取り付ける際には、装置に添付のユーザーズガイド等に記載されている注意事項も必ず読
み、ご理解・ご確認の上、作業を行ってください。ユーザーズガイドは本体装置に添付の EXPRESSBUILDER
DVD-ROM に格納されています。
なお、本書は大切に保管してください。

安全について
注意
注意事項を無視して本製品を取り扱うと、本体装置の故障、人体事故、火災、周辺機器の損傷を引き起こ
す原因となることがあります。
電源プラグを抜く
本製品を本体装置へ取り付け、取り外しの際は必ず電源プラグをコンセントから抜
き、外部装置と接続しているケーブルを外してください。故障や感電する恐れがありま
す。
本体装置内部に手をいれるときには、指をはさんだり、ぶつけたりしないように注意し
てください。
ネジは本体装置内部へ落とさない様、十分ご注意ください。
故障や感電の原因となります。
本製品を梱包箱から取り出した後は、ほこりの多い場所や水などの液体のかかる恐
れのある場所に置かないでください。
本製品を梱包箱から取り出した後は、強い磁気を発生させる物の近くに置かないでく
ださい。
本製品の取り付け、取り外しを行う前に、身近な金属（アルミサッシやドアのノブなど）
に手を触れて、身体の静電気を取り除くようにしてください。
本製品を本体装置に増設する際には、最寄りの保守サービス会社に依頼することをお勧めします。

まえがき
本製品は、Express5800/ R120d-2E(16x 2.5型ドライブモデル)専用の2.5型HDDケージです。 本製品を取り付けること
により、オプションの2.5型SAS/SATAハードディスクドライブあるいはSSD（ソリッドステートドライブ）を最大8台まで増設
ることができます。

取り付け方法
本製品を本体装置へ取り付ける際には、必ず装置に添付の「Express5800/R120d-2E ユーザーズガイド」の「2章
(1.14 増設 HDD ケージ)」を参照し、正しく取り付けてください。その際、下記の点に注意してください。
●保護カバー及びブランクカバーを取り外した後の手順についての注意事項
まず、HDD ケージを実装する際は本体装置の突起(4 箇所)と、HDD ケージ裏面の穴(4 箇所)を合わせるように実装し
ます。

次に、HDD ケージを上から押さえながら装置後方へスライドさせ、固定します。

このとき、下図のように HDD ケージ下部の折り返し部分が本体装置底面の板金に差し込まれるよう注意し取り付け
てください。
ケーブル接続
本製品に付属のケーブルの接続については、装置に添付のユーザーズガイドに従い正しく接続してください。
ファームウェア（ＳＤＲ）のアップデートについて
取り付けが完了しましたら、以下の手順に従い、必ずファームウェア（SDR）のアップデートを実施してください。
SDR のアップデートの際は、必ず HDD ケージの取り付けが完了した後に実施してください。HDD ケージを取り付けず
にアップデートを行うと、SDR が正しくアップデートされません。
SDR のアップデート手順については、本製品に添付のアップデート手順書を参照してください。

In order to ensure a safe upgrade of your server, please read this document carefully.
To install this option product to your server, read, understand and confirm the instruction (including CAUTION)
in the User’s Guide of the server prior to installation. User’s Guide is included in EXPRESSBUIDER DVD-ROM.
Please store this document in case of future usage.

Safety Information
CAUTION
Make sure to refer to the User’s Guide provided with your server when installing this
product into your server.
Prior to installing or removing an option, make sure to unplug all system AC power cords
from their electrical outlets. Remove all cables connecting the system with external
devices. Failure to disconnect the power cords before opening the system can result in
personal injury and equipment damage.
Note sufficiently that your fingers may not be caught or cut by a mechanical part at inside
of server.
Make sure not to drop screws or any conductive parts in the server. Failure to do causes
the server to malfunction or an electric shock.
After taking out the product from the packaging, try to keep it away from dust and liquids
in order to avoid accidental damage.
After taking out the product from the packaging, do not place it near a device that is
generating intense magnetic fields
If an error message is displayed on the display after completing the upgrade installation,
refer to the Error Message List in the User’s Guide provided with your server.
Touch any metal surface nearby (window frame or doorknob) to discharge the static
electricity from your body before installing this product.

Introduction
The N8154-46 2.5-inch HDD Cage is designed exclusively for NEC Express5800/R120d-2E (16x 2.5-inch
drive model).
The 2.5-inch HDD Cage can add up to eight SATA/SAS hard disk drives or SSD(Solid State Drive)
installation.

How to install the HDD Cage
In case you install this product to your server, refer to Express5800/R120d-2E EXP481A User’s Guide
(Chapter 2 1.14 Additional HDD Cage) provided with your server. Then, Please refer to the following.
Tips ●Notes about the procedure after removing protective cover and blank cover
First, mount HDD Cage and join the projection of the server (four places) to the hole on back of HDD Cage (four
places).
Next, while pressing down on the HDD cage, move it toward the rear of the server to fix.

Cable Connection
In case you connect cables to this product, refer to the User’s Guide provided with your server.
How to update FW(SDR)
After installing the HDD cage to your server, be sure to update the SDR to your server.
When you update SDR to your server, complete the installation of this HDD cage. Otherwise, you can not
update SDR correctly.
In case you update the SDR to your server, refer to the SDR Update Manual.
