NEC INTRODUCES MULTISYNC RESIDENTIAL LCD SERIES,

BRINGING 1080p FULL HD TO THE HOME

NEC Display Solutions’ New MultiSync SC40 and SC46 Combine

Premier Display Technology, Video Innovation

CHICAGO – September 6, 2007 – NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand-

alone provider of plasma displays, LCD desktop and commercial large-screen LCDs,

and projectors, announced today a new line of LCD flat panel displays for home theater

and home-entertainment environments. The MultiSync Residential Series offers

superior image quality and performance, and an unparalleled feature set designed for

custom installations.

Unlike consumer-grade LCD TVs, the MultiSync Residential Series features a

proprietary ASIC chip set for superb video quality and crisp, clear graphics. The 40-inch

MultiSync SC40 and 46-inch MultiSync SC46 include connectivity features for every

home application, as well as the ability to be configured with a state-of-the-art ATSC HD

tuner. The MultiSync Residential Series is also engineered with a ruggedized expansion

slot for functional upgradeability, giving consumers peace of mind.

“MultiSync Residential monitors deliver full HD 1080p performance and give consumers

a powerful display for today’s applications while preparing them for next-generation

technologies,” said Hans Baumann, Senior Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions.

“These state-of-the art displays exhibit a sleek, yet simple design that provides an

unsurpassed viewing experience, regardless of the content, input or environment.”

The Residential Series offers full HD 1080p resolution at 1920 x 1080 and a 16:9 aspect

ratio for superior video performance. The professional-grade, high-quality components

deliver improved image quality and performance over the life of the products.

The new NEC MultiSync SC40 and SC46 include the following features:

•HDCP (High Definition Content Protection), which can be used with future Hi-Def

components

•HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) – all-digital audio/visual interface

transmits uncompressed streams

•Auto-adjust color scheme for even-looking, true-color pictures with multiple

gamma curves, designed specifically for different applications

•OSM lockout, which gives users ability to lock out all functions, including power,

limiting non-users from adjusting preset adjustments

•Proprietary IR (infrared) codes, which prevent unauthorized remotes from

controlling the monitors

•Enhanced AccuColor 6-way color control for improved color matching

•10-bit Faroudja DCDi chip for a crisp and true picture

•Unique thermostatic cooling features to ensure long life and guaranteed

exceptional durability

•GammaComp, which allows for preset or customized gamma curves to be

displayed

•Optional external speakers

•24/7 support from NEC Display Solutions

•An industry-leading, three-year limited parts and labor warranty, and up to a five-

year optional warranty

The NEC MultiSync Residential displays are shipping today:

•NEC MultiSync SC40 is priced at $3.299.99 MSRP

•NEC MultiSync SC46 is priced at $4,199.99 MSRP
