1. GENERAL INFORMATION
• The packaging components (bags, polystyrene, card staples etc). must not be left
within reach of children since they could be a source of danger.
• Before plugging in the machine make sure that the voltage shown on the
identification plate and on the power supply correspond. The use of adapters,
multiple sockets and/or extension leads is forbidden.
• In case of doubt have the electrical power supply system checked by qualified
personnel to ensure that it meets the requisites of current legislation, including:
o Earthing
o Cross-section of conducting wire sufficient for the power absorbed
o Efficient circuit-breaking device
• Place the machine on a water-repellent counter (laminate, steel, ceramic, etc.) far
from sources of heat (oven, burners, fireplace etc) in a room where the temperature
does not fall below 5°C.
• Do not expose the machine to bad weather or place it in a room or environment with
a high level of humidity, etc.
• Do not obstruct the air intake or outlet grills, specifically do not cover the cup
warming counter with cloths or anything else.
• The machine, in its packaging, should be stored in a place protected from bad
weather, dry and free of humidity. The temperature should be above 5°C. A
maximum of three boxes of the same type may be piled on top of one another. Avoid
placing other heavy boxes on top of the container.
• In case of an emergency, such as the start of a fire, unusual noise or over heating etc,
unplug from the electrical power supply, close the water intake tube and, where
foreseen, the gas tap.
• Only use accessories and spare parts authorised by the manufacturer; this will ensure
proper functioning and prevent problems arising.

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE
MACHINE
The Sofia range of coffee machines is available in the version fitted with electronically
controlled brew groups, where the amount of coffee in the cup can be programmed; and in
the continual flow version (button).
The thermo-stabilised brew group ensures optimum use of the best of the coffee; the optimal
level of water in the boiler is replenished by means of an electronic device. The water and
steam are dispensed through 3 multi-directional high performance steam-tubes (version with
2 steam tubes available on request) to enable the preparation of cappuccinos and other hot
drinks.
These technical solutions make it possible to eliminate any wastage of energy and protect the
machine from harmful thermal shocks.
The water, taken directly from the mains water supply, is pressurised using a maintenance
free positive displacement pump, while it is heated by means of conductive heat exchange in
the boiler.
By using the commands for the purpose situated on the front of the machine the perfectly
heated and pressurised water is delivered to the brew units.
The load bearing structure of the machine is made in steel and the mechanical and electrical
components are attached to it.
The casing of the machine is in stainless steel and Baiedur, which give it the necessary
protection as well as a unique design.

times. In case of doubt or of anomalous functioning, turn off the machine, refrain from
making any repairs or intervening directly and contact the service centre.
The user must not:
• Touch the hot parts or dispensing parts of the machine
• Rest containers of liquid on the machine
• Perform repairs or move the machine with the power supply attached or while the
machine is hot
• Wash the machine with direct jets of water or under pressure
• Partially or totally immerse the machine in water
• Use the machine if the electric power cable appears to be damaged
• Touch the machine with wet or damp hands or feet
• Use the machine when there are children in the immediate vicinity
• Allow unqualified persons or children to use the machine
• Obstruct the air intake and heat outlet grills with cloths or anything else
• Use the machine if it is wet or damp in the non-dispensing areas
These machines are destined for exclusive use for food products so that the use of liquids
and/or materials of other types which could be harmful and/or pollute the brew units is
forbidden.

The conventional symbols to observe during transport or storage of the box are shown on
the outside.
Always move with the box in a vertical position, do no t overturn or lay on its side,
proceed with caution, avoiding collisions and protecting from bad weather.
5.2 Checking on delivery
At the moment of delivery check that the machine you have received corresponds to the one
described in the accompanying documentation, including any accessories.
Check that it has not been damaged during transport and if this should have occurred
promptly inform the forwarding agent and our customer service department.
The packaging components should not be left within reach of children since they
could constitute a source of danger,
Do not abandon the packaging components in the environment but dispose of them
