Please note all (Ref.) refer to the Controls and Functions mapping guide on
Page 1.
Plug the power connector into the back of the system via the
port that is labelled as DC 5V (Ref.). Alternatively, charge the
radio for approximately 2.5 hours, using the power cable, to
charge the internal battery. This will allow for approximately 4-6
hours of charge.
Once powered or charged, switch the Power Supply switch on
the back of the system to‘ON’(Ref.).
Ensure the antenna (Ref.) is extended as far as possible so that
you can rotate it. This will allow you to receive the best possible
signal before DAB or FM mode are selected.
When you rst switch on the radio, it will be in Standby mode
showing the time and date. The time and date will not yet be set
up, but it will automatically update after you switch to DAB later
on.
Press the ‘Power/Source’ button (Ref.) to turn on the unit. It will
automatically take you to DAB radio mode or the previous mode
you were using.
If DAB mode is activated, the radio will automatically begin
scanning and storing DAB stations with good signal. The screen
will display “Full Scan”when it is scanning, and will display a
radio station when the scan is complete.

If the radio does not automatically begin scanning, simply press
the ‘Scan’ button (Ref.) to initiate a full scan. Once it is nished,
the rst available station will begin to play.
Now that the DAB stations have been scanned and searched,
you can scroll through the available DAB/DAB+ stations by using
the ‘Prev’ button (Ref.) or ‘Next’ button (Ref.). Once you nd
a station you wish to listen to, press the ‘Select/Snooze’ button
(Ref.) to select the station.
To change the mode, press the‘Power/Source’ button (Ref.) to
switch between DAB Radio and FM Radio.
Further guidance on DAB and FM will be provided in the following
pages.
Standby
To place the music system in standby mode, press and hold the
‘Power/Source button (Ref.)
To turn the radio o fully, turn the switch at the rear of the unit
(Ref.) to OFF and turn the power o at the mains. This would
be advisable to save the radio’s internal battery charge if you are
operating it in this way instead of operating it from the mains.
Please keep the power cord out of reach of children.

In working mode and o standby, press the ‘Power/Source’
button (Ref.) to switch the mode to DAB Radio. On rst use it
will automatically scan all stations and save them.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.) to ensure the best signal is
being received for the scan.
If the unit hasn’t automatically scanned or you would like to
rescan the available stations, press the‘Scan’button(Ref.) and
then release. This would also be advisable if you are having
trouble listening to particular stations.
Once you have chosen to scan, the radio will display“Full Scan”
as it starts scanning up the frequency band and store stations.
Once the scan is complete, the rst radio station with good
signal will begin to play.
To browse through all of the stations that have been stored, use
the ‘Next’ and ‘Prev’ buttons (Ref./8) to scroll through them.
Once you have found your desired station, press the‘Select/
Snooze’ button (Ref.) to conrm your choice.
When listening to a DAB station, you can access station
information by pressing the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.)
repeatedly to view information available (See page 7)
When you power up the radio again after switching o, it will
automatically tune to the same station (DAB or FM) that was last
selected.

How to store a preset radio station
To be able to quickly access your favourite DAB stations, you can
preset the stations. Up to 10 dierent preset stations can be set
for you to browse between.
To store a station as your preset, it is best to be listening to the
station at the time.
Once listening to the station, press and hold the ‘Preset’ button
(Ref.). The screen will then display “Preset Store <1: (Empty)” to
show the empty preset 1. To set the station as preset 1, simply
press the ‘Select/Snooze’button (Ref.) to conrm your choice.
To set the station as preset number 2 or above, press the ‘Prev’
(Ref.) or ‘Next’ (Ref.) buttons to change the “<1” to the number
you want to store the station as. Follow by pressing the ‘Select/
Snooze’ button (Ref.) to save.
Once the station is saved as a preset, the display will then show
“Preset (x) stored”.
How to play a preset radio station
To play your preset radio stations, press the‘Preset’ button to
enter the preset catalogue (Ref.).
Use the ‘Prev’ (Ref.) or ‘Next’ (Ref.) buttons to scroll through
your preset stations from 1-10.
Once you have found the preset station you wish to play, press
the ‘Select/Snooze’ button (Ref.) to select your choice. The
station will now begin to play.

DAB/DAB+ Station Information
Whilst listening to a DAB/DAB+ station, you can nd out station
information. Press the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.) repeatedly to
scroll through the following information:
Bit Rate: Shows the data rate at which the signal is being
transmitted.
Bit Error Rate (BER): Provides details of the signal error rate.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station’s transmission
channel number and frequency.
PTY (Programme Type): Shows the type and description of the
programme provided by the DAB station.
Time and Date: Displays the time and date information
provided by the broadcaster.
DAB Indication: Indicates DAB mode.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS): Displays scrolling text
information supplied by the broadcaster.

Press the ‘Power/Source’ button (Ref.) multiple times to switch
to FM. The rst time you do this, the FM frequency “87.5 MHz’will
be displayed on the screen.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.).
To scan for the available stations with good signal, press the
‘Scan’ button (Ref.) for the radio to begin scanning up the
frequency band. The next available station will then begin to
play.
To scan down the frequency band, press and hold the ‘Scan’
button (Ref.).
The radio will display station information when you press the
‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.). Press multiple times to view all
information available (See page 10 for more information).
How to tune a specic frequency manually
To listen to a specic frequency, press and hold the ‘Next’ button
(Ref.) to search forward quickly, or the‘Prev’ button (Ref.) to
search back quickly. It will stop searching when the button is
released.
To search slowly, press the‘Next’or ‘Prev’button (Ref./8)
multiple times rather than holding.
