About Logitek
Founded in 1979 by two Rice University students, Logitek has made audio consoles for
television and radio for more than 40 years. After helping found the campus radio station and
installing a donated audio console at KTRU, the pair decided they could design a better one
themselves and the company was born.
In the late 1990s, Logitek was the first North American company to offer a router-based digital
console. Its first virtual PC-based console was introduced in 1999. By 2009, the company had
pivoted to television, offering both physical and virtual consoles that seamlessly interface to
production workflow automation systems.
mixIT represents Logitek’s return to its radio roots, offering a simple user interface, modern
control, and the latest in standards-based networking technology at an attractive price.
Our vision for Audio over IP is simple: we believe that over time, every piece of audio
equipment will have an Ethernet jack on it, and it should be as easy to connect something to
the audio network as it is to plug an XLR into an analog or digital board.
Continuous Innovation Since 1979

Chapter 2 – Setup and Configuration
Power Supply
A “wall wart” style power supply is provided, along with a power injector.
The power injector has two RJ-45 jacks and a plug to mate with the power supply.
Connect the RJ-45 coming from the JetStream to the white RJ-45 jack. This is the data coming
in.
Connect the colored RJ-45 jack to a CAT-5 patch cable and the other end of this patch cable to
the jack on the rear of the mixit. This is the data coming out with power.
Connect the mains lead from the wall wart to the port on the injector.
The console will power on.
NOTE: use CAT-5 or CAT-5e cable only. Cat 6 cable will not work.
While we use a common network cable for this connection, this is not an
Ethernet connection. We are sending RS-422 serial data plus audio and power
on the wire. Do not connect the console to an Ethernet switch.
Scene Select Buttons
On the mixIT-12, there are 4 scene select/softkey buttons under the program meter.
The function of the buttons may be programmed in Command Builder.
The buttons are addressed as follows:

How To Save A Console Scene
Consoles Connected To Engine Port 1:
When you turn on device 4, bus 101, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 1.
When you turn on device 4, bus 102, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 2.
When you turn on device 4, bus 103, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 3.
When you turn on device 4, bus 104, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 4.
Consoles Connected To Engine Port 2:
When you turn on device 5, bus 101, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 1.
When you turn on device 5, bus 102, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 2.
When you turn on device 5, bus 103, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 3.
When you turn on device 5, bus 104, the status of the board is saved to surface 1 slot 4.
Here is the process that we recommend:
1. Lay the board out exactly as you want it, including routes to the faders, bus
assignments, and routes to the monitors.
2. Go into JetStream Server and click on the JetSteam State Page. On the Current Engine
Vector tab, find device 4 (or 5, if saving for port 2).
3. Scroll over to bus 101-104.
4. Click to turn the box on for the device/bus combination you wish to save. This will write
everything to a file.

Utility Routers
The mixIT has three Utility Routers on the right hand side of the mixIT-12 and the only LCD
screen on the mixIT-6.
These router crosspoints correspond to Router 1, Router 2, and Router 3 in the Surface Settings
in JetSet, the web browser configuration system of the JetStream.
To assign router choices, in the Surface Settings for the console, scroll over to the Router 1/2/3
columns. Place tick marks in the column for each source you wish to make available to the
router.
The output of these router crosspoints is as follows:
Console Connected to Port 1
Console Connected to Port 2
Console Connected to Port 3
Port 1 Route 1 Out
Port 2 Route 1 Out
Port 3 Route 1 Out
Port 1 Route 2 Out
Port 2 Route 2 Out
Port 3 Route 2 Out
Port 1 Route 3 Out
Port 2 Route 3 Out
Port 3 Route 3 Out
These outputs are assigned either on the Local IO page or Network IO page as applicable.

Chapter 3 - Console Operation
The mixIT is very easy to use. The console uses touchscreens to select sources and
bus assignments and knobs and buttons to adjust levels and turn faders on and off.
This gives the operator the best of both worlds: simple menus and fewer buttons
while still allowing someone to operate the board on air by feel without looking at
where their hands are going.
Fader Assignments
Any source can route to any fader. The sources are assigned during the setup
process using the Surface Settings menu in the web browser.
Tap the name of the source over the fader to change it. A list of choices appears.
Tap the arrow buttons to scroll through the list. Tap the name of the desired source
to route it to the fader. When you tap the source, the menu will close.

Bus Assignments
The console has 4 main mix buses: Program, Aux 1, Aux 2, and Aux 3. Usually Program is
the main on air output.
As with changing the route, tap the name of the source over the fader you wish to
change. Tap P (Program), 1 (Aux 1), 2 (Aux 2), or 3 (Aux 3) to assign the fader to the
mix bus. When you have made your selections, tap “Done.”
