maximum benefit from your speaker system.

Your new speaker system has been very carefully packaged to insure that

it travels to you safely. A double-wall outer carton protects each speaker

with heavy V-board corner protectors. Custom foam end caps are used to

protect the elegant cabinetry, and a plastic liner is provided as

waterproofing. Please save this packing for future transportation. If cartons

become damaged or misplaced, new ones can be purchased from Legacy

Audio.

If you have any doubts about your ability to properly install in-wall

loudspeakers, you should use the services of a custom installer.

Installation Recommendations:

1. Determine and mark the location of all speakers since changes to the location of one

speaker may affect the other either aesthetically or acoustically. Sconce speakers may be

installed either horizontally or vertically. Sconce Surround speakers can only be installed in

the vertical position. Consider the location of pipes, wires or other materials that may be

affected by drilling or installing fasteners into the wall.

2. It is recommended that on-wall speakers be installed where all fasteners or screws are

imbedded into a wall stud or masonry component. Other options may include the use of

mollies or toggles depending upon the wall materials and thickness.

3. Install suitable speaker wire from your electronic components to the location of where the

speaker terminal plate will rest once installed and leaving enough wire to allow easy

connection to both the electronic equipment and the speaker. Legacy Audio recommends

the use of up to 16-gauge wire for the Sconce speaker system.

4. Install a #10 screw into the wall surface that is long enough to provide at least one inch

penetration into the wall stud or masonry surface and leaving at least 1/8" protruding from

the wall.

5. Using at least two people, lift the Sconce Surround speaker close to the mounting screw

and make necessary wire connections insuring correct wire polarity. Place the Sconce

Surround speaker onto the screw head using the corresponding keyhole on the rear of the

speaker. Insure the speaker locks onto the mount by pushing down.

Note: Before you purchase loudspeaker wire, check local building codes

to make sure that the wire is rated to comply with applicable local safety

codes such as UL or CL-2. When pulling wire, take care not to pull the

wire too fast to prevent stretching the wire or damaging the insulation from

friction. Leave 2 to 3 feet of excess loudspeaker wire at both ends; it is

easier to trim off excess wire than to splice additional wire. When securing

the wire inside the walls, be careful not to pierce the insulation with nails

or staples.
