1. INTRODUCTION
This manual covers the Power Scan vehicle diagnostic tool . It provides
technical information on using the interface, connections to it, communications
with it, and other related information.
1.1 Tool specification
Input power : DC +10V to 20V
Environment Operation
Operation Temperature :+10ºC to 50ºC
Storage Temperature :-10ºC to 80ºC
Operating Humidity :20% to 80% (non-condensing)
Non-operating Humidity :10% to 90% (non-condensing)
1.2 Brief introduction of instrument
The main controller need to connect the diagnostic cable to get power
supply .Fig 2-1 is the picture of main controller . It provides the user interface for
user to implement major function on front panel ..

Main parts Descriptions:
U-Key : Move cursor to up, or in some functions ( i.e. Activation ), increase
value.
D-Key : Move cursor to down, or in some functions ( i.e. Activation ) , decrease

R-Key : Move cursor to right, or in some functions( i.e. Data-Stream ) , change
to next page.
L-Key : Move cursor to left, or in some functions( i.e. Data-Stream ) , change to
previous page.
Enter-Key : Confirm selection.
ESC-Key : Exit selection, return to previous menu.
LCD screen :
It displays the menu, messages , diagnostic result. User can see some
characters like ▲,►,▼,◄, <--I ,x. These characters show the valid keys
on current display page.
▲: U-Key
►: R-Key
▼:D-Key
◄:L-Key
<--|: Enter-Key
x : ESC-Key
Normally, Every display page would show prompts in the bottom
position.
25 Pins socket----------- for 25 PIN extension line to insert
CF card socket------- for firmware update (Optional) .

2. Extension connector install
Fig 2-3 show the extension connector installation. Connect the extension
connector female port to the main controller 25-pin male socket.

Diagnostic cable install
For every vehicle, there is the different diagnostic cable needs to install on
vehicle, then user can build connection with vehicle through this cable .
About the different cable maps to the different vehicle , please refer to the
section “diagnostic cable “ in every vehicle description chapter.
Fig 2-5 shows the diagnostic cable install with extension connector.

CAUTION :
Make sure all parts connection are always in power off state. If connect
every part in power on state, it would damage the tool.
