DANGER: To reduce the risk of electrocution:

•Do not place or store this appliance where it can fall or be pulled

into a bath or sink.

•Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.

•Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water. Unplug

immediately.

•Do not use while bathing.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of low-grade burns, electric

shock, ﬁre, or injury to persons:

•Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or

near the very young, the elderly, or invalids. Children should not

be permitted to use or touch this appliance. Do not leave children

unattended in any room where this product is installed. Adjust

the temperature of the toilet seat for the elderly, those who are

incapacitated, or persons with sensitive skin.

•Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in

the manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by Kohler

Co.

•Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if

it is not working properly, if it has been dropped, damaged, or

dropped into water. Return the product to a service center for

examination and repair.

•Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

•Never block the air openings of the product or place it on a soft

surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be

blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

•Never use while sleeping or drowsy.

•Never drop or insert any objects into any opening or hose.

•Do not use outdoors or where aerosol (spray) products are being

used or where oxygen is administered.

•Connect this product to a properly grounded outlet only. See

Grounding Instructions.

•Install this product properly by following the installation

procedure.

•Only authorized persons can install or repair the unit. Do not

attempt to service this appliance yourself, doing so could void the

warranty.

WARNING: Risk of electric shock, ﬁre, or personal injury.

This product must be grounded. Connect only to a dedicated

120 V AC, 60 Hz circuit protected by a minimum 15 A

Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or Residual Current

Device (RCD).

WARNING: Risk of electric shock or product damage. Do

not immerse or ﬂush the product with water.

CAUTION: Risk of property damage: Do not push or pull

on the water connection to prevent water leakage.

CAUTION: Risk of property damage: In areas where water

may freeze in the pipes, make arrangements to keep the

pipes warm. Any water remaining in the seat may freeze

during storage during the winter. Allow the unit to warm to

room temperature before reinstalling or using.

NOTICE: Risk of product damage:

•Do not install this product in a location exposed to excessive

moisture where condensation might form on the product surface.

Provide adequate ventilation when bathing to avoid damage to

the electronic components due to high humidity levels.

•Do not apply excessive force to the spray wands. Product may

break.

•Do not install this seat in a location where water might be

splashed on the product.

•Do not supply electrical power to the unit until the plumbing

installation work has been completed. It could cause the product

to malfunction.

•Allow the unit to cool to room temperature before installation or

operation. The thermal protectors may trip during storage or

transportation in warm weather causing the unit to not operate.

User Instructions

•Before installation or for long-term storage of this product, protect

the product by storing it in its original carton. Failure to do so

may result product damage (such as scratches, loss of function)

and/or dangerous situations (such as damage to the cord).

•Verify the power cord and water hose are not susceptible to

damage. Ensure the clips (provided) are attached evenly along the

water hose and power cord. If the clips were not installed, attach

them at this time. This will prevent twisting or damage to the

water hose and power cord and will extend the life of the

product.

Grounding Instructions

•This product should be grounded. In the event of an electrical

short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by

providing an escape wire for the electric current. This product is

equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding

plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly

installed and grounded.

DANGER: Risk of electric shock. Improper use of the

grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.

•If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not

connect the grounding wire to either ﬂat blade terminal. The wire

with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or

without yellow stripes is the grounding wire.

•Check with a qualiﬁed electrician or service personnel if the

grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in

doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded.

Wiring Requirements

WARNING: Risk of electric shock, ﬁre, or personal injury.

This product must be grounded and connected only to a

dedicated, nominal 120 VAC, 60 Hz circuit protected by a

minimum 15 A Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or

Residual Current Device (RCD). If the product is not

grounded or a higher voltage circuit is used, electric shock,

ﬁre, or personal injury may occur.

NOTICE: This product is factory equipped with a speciﬁc electrical

cord and plug to permit connection to a proper electric circuit. Make

sure that the product is connected to an outlet having the same

conﬁguration as the plug. Do not use an adapter with this product.

Do not modify the plug provided – if it will not ﬁt the outlet, have

the proper outlet installed by a qualiﬁed electrician. If the product

must be reconnected for use on a different type of electric circuit, the

reconnection should be made by qualiﬁed service personnel.

NOTICE: Do not use an extension cord with this product.

NOTICE: Consult your local electrical codes before determining the

connection type and the electrical outlet location. The temporary

connection may not be permitted by local electrical codes and the

electrical outlet location may be speciﬁed.

Preferred Connection

Determine the electrical outlet location. The electrical outlet

should be located within 12″(30.5 cm) of the toilet to

accommodate the length of the power cord. An extension cord

cannot be connected to the seat’s power cord.

Route the electrical wires, then install and ground the electrical

outlet. This electrical outlet must be a dedicated, nominal 120

VAC, 60 Hz circuit protected by a minimum 15 A Ground-Fault

Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or Residual Current Device (RCD). Do

not insert the plug into the electrical outlet at this time.

Temporary Connection

NOTICE: Unless the cover screw is grounded through the house

wiring, attaching the adapter grounding screw tab to the cover

screw will NOT ground the unit. If there is any doubt whether

cover screw is grounded, have it checked by a qualiﬁed electrician

or service professional.

A temporary connection with a two-prong adapter may be made

where local codes permit, provided that the adapter is grounded.

Test the Functions

Wrap the toilet seat with plastic wrap. This will prevent water

from spraying from the toilet during testing.

Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet. The seat will go

through a power-up sequence where the power indicator LED

will ﬂash amber. Once power-up sequence is complete and the

tank is full, the indicator will turn green.

Face the toilet, then place your hand or a damp wash cloth on the

right side of the seat approximately 1/3 from the front of the seat

(as illustrated).

Proceed to the ″Keypad and Panel Diagram″and “Operation”

sections in the Homeowner’s Guide to test the various seat

functions.
