This man al contains information for all standard versions of the Kingkraft Easibath. Special design
baths man fact red by Kingkraft may differ to those described herein. Separate instr ctions for these
models may be req ired. Please cons lt Kingkraft Ltd. These instr ctions also cover the whirlpool
hydrotherapy system and alternative base frame versions which are available as options. Please make
s re yo read all the sections relevant to yo r partic lar model of bath.
If yo have any do bt abo t the safe operation of the bath, please contact Kingkraft immediately for
advice.
• Do not stand in the bath at any time
• Kingkraft prod cts are intended for domestic and commercial se only.
• Kingkraft baths are intended only for bathing people.
• Do not exceed the maxim m loading marked on the nit.
• Only one person sho ld be in the nit at any one time.
• Only kingkraft man fact red accessories have been tested by Kingkraft for the safe se with
this bath nder normal conditions of se.
• If fitted, the raise/lower control handset is waterproof b t sho ld not be p t into the bath water.
However, if it is accidentally dropped remove it immediately and wipe dry. Do not leave the
handset nderwater.
Note that UK regulations require that, in general, no person should lift a mass of greater than 25kg
unaided. Use appropriate lifting equipment if this is required to help disabled people to get in and out
of the bath.
Yo r bath m st be installed by competent installers. If yo have to move or re-install the bath for any
reason, please take care to read the req irements given in the installation section. Contact Kingkraft
for advice if yo need any f rther information or assistance.
Yo r Kingkraft bath sho ld be serviced at least once per year by a competent individ al. The bath and
the whirlpool (if fitted) m st be cleaned and disinfected reg larly according to the instr ctions given
herein.
Ens re that the safety notices / instr ctions which accompany yo r bath are properly displayed at all
times. Make s re they are replaced if they become damaged or defaced. Contact Kingkraft if yo need
f rther s pplies of laminated notices.
DANGER - RISK OF SCALDING:
Yo r Kingkraft prod ct is man fact red sing top q ality components and assemblies. As an option, in
order to minimise the risk of scalding, a Thermostatic Mixer Valve (TMV) can be fitted between yo r
hot water s pply and the shower (optional) and bath inlets. THESE ARE NOT FITTED AS
STANDARD – PLEASE CHECK THE SPECIFICATION OF YOUR BATH AND IF IN ANY DOUBT
CONSULT KINGKRAFT FOR ADVICE. The operation of these TMV’s sho ld be reg larly checked,
especially after any maintenance. See the section below on maintenance of yo r nit for f rther
instr ctions. The safe temperat re of the mixed water m st be checked prior to bathing on each
occasion – see section of filling the bath.

The standard Easibath has a mains electrical connection to power the lifting mechanism and whirlpool
system (if fitted). There is a risk of electroc tion if any wires become damaged and a potential fire risk
if the mechanisms fail and overheat. Yo r bath sho ld only be sed if any powered eq ipment on it
(eg. Whirlpool, raise/lower system etc.) is connected to a s itable power s pply protected by an earth
leakage circ it breaker. The electrical req irements are contained in the pre-installation instr ctions
available from Kingkraft. Test the earth leakage circ it breaker which s pplies power to yo r bath
reg larly (at least once a week), and if yo are in any do bt abo t its operation, cons lt a q alified
electrician before sing the bath.
WARNING
If thermostatic mixer valves are fitted, please refer immediately to the man fact rer if the water is too
cold or too hot and do not se the bath ntil the problem is corrected.
If conventional hot and cold taps are fitted, please ens re that the bath water is f lly mixed by hand (if
cool eno gh) or mixer paddle to a safe temperat re, prior to sing the bath. WARNING! With no
thermostatic valve attached there is the danger of scalding!
Certain bath additives may damage the bath, if they contain bleach or other corrosives. Use only
water, normal soaps and approved cleaning agents. If in do bt, please contact Kingkraft for advice
abo t the s itability of the additives yo wish to se. Kingkraft recommend Chemgene.
Under no circ mstances m st acid or bleach based cleaners be sed. To do so invalidates yo r
g arantee. We recommend that yo r Kingkraft Bath sho ld be cleaned with Chemgene which is
available from s. See the section on cleaning below for instr ctions on how to safely clean yo r nit.
If yo r nit has any electrical controls, switch off the s pply at the wall isolator (mains nits) or
disconnect and remove the battery pack (battery nits only) before attempting any maintenance,
incl ding cleaning.
Do not se press rised water jets to clean the bath and keep water jets away from the controls,
p mps and the bath chassis when cleaning aro nd the bath. Do not steam clean.
If yo r Easibath is fitted with a whirlpool hydrotherapy system, se only low foaming bath additives.
Normal b bble baths will froth excessively with whirlpools and m st not be sed as they pose a
serio s risk of drowning / s ffocation / asphyxiation to the ser and many ca se damage to property.
Do not attempt maintenance nless the bath is empty.
Check the Easibath freq ently for damage, especially the mains lead and earth wire. If yo find signs
of damage, do not se the bath and contact Kingkraft as soon as possible to arrange for service and
repair.
RISK OF SCALDING
Altho gh safety devices can be fitted as an option to minimise any
risk of scalding, sers m st be aware that these are not
necessarily fail safe. The temperat re of the water in the bath
MUST BE INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED ON EVERY OCASION it
is sed and before an incapacitated person comes into contact
with the water. Ideally a calibrated thermometer sho ld be sed.
Please check if yo r bath specification incl des for these mixer
valves.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Bathing sho ld be a relaxing and enjoyable process. Yo r Kingkraft prod ct has been developed over
a n mber of years and is specifically designed to be “User and Carer Friendly”.
The Easibath is designed for se as an assisted bathing bath with an optional variable height f nction
to ease the risk of back strain for the carers and incorporating a niq e fold-down side for easy
access.
The fold side also allows the Easibath to be sed as a general p rpose changing table and a shower
platform. Bathers can be ndressed on the platform prior to bathing and also dried and dressed
afterwards, th s minimising moving and handling.
The folding side is load bearing, and on the Hi-lift model, it is set at wheelchair height when the bath is
at its lowest level. This allows direct transfer to and from a wheelchair. The Fixed height model sho ld
be installed at a height pre-determined by the c stomer.
The Easibath is designed to be sed in conj nction with some types of mobile and over-head track
hoist systems.
WARNING!
Provision MUST be made to be able to remove the ser from the bath safely and q ickly in case of an
emergency or power fail re to the bath. This m st be feasible when the bath is in any of its raised
positions.
(E.g. providing a floor mobile hoist in case the ceiling track hoist system fails, or to be able to hoist the
ser o t of the bath if there is a fa lt / power fail re when the bath is in its highest position.
The variable height adj stment (if specified) allows the bath to be raised to working heights s itable for
most carers, which minimises the risk of back-strain and fatig e.
For positioning and s pporting bathers, Kingkraft prod ce a range of q ickly interchangeable inserts
and s pports to cater for a variety of different sers. Details can be s pplied by Kingkraft. These
accessories m st be specified following an assessment of the bathing needs of the ser. Most
s pports can s ally be trialled in the Easibath on req est to Kingkraft.
With Easibaths that have the option of thermostatic mixer valves, the maxim m bath and shower
water temperat re are pre-set and reg lated by thermostatic mixer valves, incorporating over -
temperat re sh tdown protection. Please check whether yo r Easibath has this option. If in any do bt,
contact Kingkraft for assistance. These mixer valves may be separate discrete nits positioned nder
the bath or they may form part of a mixer tap nit mo nted on top of the bath. (A f rther option is for
digital mixer valves which control the temperat re of the water to the bath and optional shower from
‘off’ thro gh to ‘cold’ and then to a maxim m preset temperat re).
Also to be enclosed with this man al are waterproofed operating and cleaning instr ction sheets for
wall fixing adjacent to yo r Easibath. Please ens re these are available for all sers and that their
contents are nderstood and the instr ctions are followed by all carers and sers of the bath.

Optional Bather Supports and Cushioning
To ens re that the bathing process is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible whilst maintaining bather
safety it is important that the correct se of bather s pports is made.
Each bather’s needs may be entirely different and an assessment by an Occ pational Therapist
sho ld be ndertaken for each ser of the bath and the correct s pports sed. Kingkraft man fact re
a range of standard and c stom-b ilt s pports, some of which may have been s pplied with this
Easibath. Their aim is to position the bather comfortably yet sec rely.
Some s pports rely on s ckers to hold them in position.
WARNING!
The athing cushions are made from PVC.
Please make s re the ser will not have any allergic reactions to this material before se.
Some s pports are attached to the base of the bath by s ckers.
In all cases these s ckers sho ld be attached to the bath itself and not to any other mattress or
s pport.
The se of s ckers is designed to allow the s pport to be removed.
This also means that the s pport may move inadvertently if s bjected to s fficient force by the ser or
if excess air appears in the PVC cover.
Extreme care is needed to ens re the s pports are correctly specified and sed.
The supports will also have a tendency to float.
The bather m st never be left nattended in the bath, especially if sing s pports and c shioning.
If in any do bt abo t their safe se, or the degree of sec re s pport req ired do not attempt to se.
please contact kingkraft immediately for advice

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Easibath is mains powered and has a short life battery ba kup system in the event of mains
power failure. This is for a one time emergen y use only. The bath moves very slowly when in battery
mode and should not be used until mains power is restored. (The ontrol box is mounted underneath
the middle of the bath tub, and the green power light on the ontrol box shows if the mains power is
present)
To raise bath
First check that raising the bath will not ca se damage to persons or s rro nding property. Then if all
clear press the p b tton on the control panel.
To lower bath
First check that lowering the bath will not ca se damage to persons or the s rro nding property. If all
clear press the down b tton.
If the nit fails to operate, check the electrical isolator switch is activated. If the isolator trips
s bseq ently on operation then there is likely to be a fa lt and the bath raise/lower f nction sho ld not
be sed f rther ntil an engineer has checked the installation and rectified any fa lt.
To lower bath side / door

Bath mattress (if supplied) -
Mattresses manufa tured by Kingkraft are made from PVC with either a PVC foam filler or in the ase
of some ushions these may be filled with polystyrene beads.
There is a risk of floating of ushions and supports if they are not se ured properly.
To secure mattress
a) Ens re that the bath bottom and mattresses / s ckers are clean
b) Place mattress on bottom of bath
c) R n a small amo nt of water into the bath
d) Press the mattress firmly on to the bottom of the bath
When removing the mattress for cleaning take care that each s cker is prised caref lly away from
bottom of bath to avoid a tearing action.

Easibath backrests do not as standard have s ckers attached to them. These sit on top of the base
mattress as standard, and the back of the backrest ‘hooks’ nder the lip of the top panel of the
Easibath t b end.
Knee Rests are provided with s ckers for attachment directly to the bath t b base. They m st not be
placed on any other material s ch as another mattress, the s ckers will not sec re the s pport
properly / safely.
The Bathing Process
Before sing the bath / the bather getting into the bath, the water sho ld be t rned on as described
below and allowed to flow into the bath with the pop- p waste(s) open to allow any cold water to flow
away. This process sho ld be contin ed ntil the water temperat re is perceived to be constant. This
operation will allow the mixed water temperat re to increase to the req ired level (if the mixer valve
option is specified) and permit the carer and/or ser to check that the maxim m temperat re is safe
prior to the bather entering the bath. If the water temperat re does not achieve a comfortable level
there may be a fa lt and the bath sho ld not be sed ntil the fa lt is rectified. T rn off the water, and
allow any resid al water in the bath to drain. If the temperat re achieved was satisfactory, the bath is
now ready for filling. Close the pop- p waste by operating the p sh-p ll lever or depress the pl g itself
depending on which type is fitted.
