Door Locks / Hood / Trunk

2. Go to the front of the
vehicle, raise the hood
slightly, push the secondary
latch (1) left side and lift
the hood (2).
3. Pull the support rod from
the hood.
4. Hold the hood open with
the support rod.

Opening the hood
1. Pull the release lever to
unlatch the hood.
Closing the hood
1. Before closing the hood,
check the following:
• All filler caps in the
engine compartment
must be correctly
installed.
• Gloves, rags or any other
combustible material
must be removed from
the engine compartment.
2. Return the support rod to
its clip to prevent it from
rattling.
3. Lower the hood until it is
about 30 cm above the
closed position and let it
drop. Make sure that it
locks into place.
4. Check that the hood has
engaged properly.
Trunk [4]
Opening the trunk
1. Make sure the shift lever
is in P (Park, for automatic
transaxle/dual clutch
transmission) or first gear
or R (Reverse, for manual
transaxle) and set the
parking brake.
2. Then do one of the
following :
• Press the Remote key or
Smart Key Trunk Unlock
button for more than one
second.
• Press the button on
the trunk itself with
the Smart Key in your
possession.
• Use the mechanical key.
(if equipped with key
hole)
Closing the trunk
To close, lower the trunk lid,
then press down on it until it
locks. To be sure the trunk lid is
securely fastened, always check
by trying to pull it up again.
Emergency trunk safety
release (if equipped)
Your vehicle is equipped with
an emergency trunk release
lever located inside the trunk.
If someone is inadvertently
locked in the trunk, moving the
handle in the direction of the
arrow will release the trunk
latch mechanism and open the
trunk.

❈ In cold and wet climates, power windows may
not work properly due to freezing conditions.
Reverse Parking Distance
Warning assists the driver
during backward movement
of the vehicle by chiming if
any object is sensed within
a distance of 120 cm (48 in.)
behind the vehicle.
Operating condition
• This function will activate
when backing up with the
ignition switch ON.
• The sensing distance while

Warning in operation is
approximately 120 cm
(48 in.) at the rear bumper
center area, and 60 cm
(24 in) at the rear bumper
side area.
• When more than two
objects are sensed at the
same time, the closest one
will be recognized first.

Adjusting the height up and
down (front) [3]
• To raise the headrest, pull it
up to the desired position (1).
• To lower it, push and hold
the release button (2) and
lower the headrest to the
desired position (3).
Removal (front) [3]
1. Recline the seatback (2)
with the recline lever or
switch (1).
2. Raise the headrest as far
as it can go.
3. Press the release button
(3), while pulling the
headrest up (4).
Adjusting the height up and
down (rear)* [3]
• To raise the headrest,
pull it up to the desired
position (1).
• To lower it, push and hold
the release button (2),
lower the headrest to the
desired position(3).
• Where the operation of the
seat warmer is not needed,
keep the switches in the
“OFF” position.
• Each time you press the
switch, the temperature
setting of the front seat
will change as follows:

it as far as it can go then
press the release button (1)
while pulling it upward (2).

ISOFIX anchorages are
located between the seatback
and the seat cushion of
the rear seat left and right
outboard seating positions,
indicated by the symbols.

Never place a rear facing
child restraint in the front
passenger seat, unless the
passenger-side air bag is
deactivated. An inflating
passenger-side air bag could
impact the rear-facing child
restraint and kill the child.

When the light switch is in
the AUTO light position, the
taillights and headlights
will be turned ON or OFF
automatically depending on
the amount of light outside
the vehicle.
Tilt & telescopic steering [4]
To change the steering wheel
angle, pull down the lock release
lever (1), adjust the steering
wheel to the desired angle (2) and
height (3), then pull up the lock-
release lever to lock the steering
wheel in place. Be sure to adjust
the steering wheel to the desired
position before driving.
To decrease the cruising speed:
Follow either of these procedures:
• Move down the SET- switch and hold it. Your vehicle set
speed will decrease by 10 km/h (5 mph). Release the lever at
the speed you want to maintain.
• Move down the SET- switch and release it immediately.The
cruising speed will decrease by 1.0 km/h (1.0 mph) each time
you move down the SET- switch in this manner.

Type A
Type B To set cruise control speed:
1. Press the driving assist
(CRUISE/ ) button on the
steering wheel, to turn
the function on. The cruise
status on the LCD screen
will appear.
2. Accelerate to the desired
speed, which must be more
than 30 km/h (20 mph).
3. Move down the SET-
switch, and release it at the
desired speed. The cruise
status on the LCD screen
will appear. Release the
accelerator pedal at the
same time. The desired
speed will automatically be
maintained.
To increase cruise control set
speed:
Follow either of these
procedures:
• Move up the RES+ switch
and hold it. Your vehicle set
speed will increase by 10
km/h (5 mph). Release the
lever at the speed you want.
• Move up the RES+ switch
and release it immediately.
The cruising speed will
increase by 1.0 km/h (1.0
mph) each time you move
up the RES+ switch in this
manner.
Cruise control switch [6]

control operation.
CRUISE / : Turns cruise
control on or off.
RES+: Resumes or increases
cruise control speed.
SET-: Sets or decreases cruise
control speed.
