SUBSONIC

FILTER

—

With

the

switch

in

this

setting,

signals

below

18 Hz

are

attenuated

at

the

rate

of

6

dB

per

octave.

Although

such

signals

are

inaudi-

ble,

they

can

cause

intermodulation

distortion

components

in

the

audible

range.

It

is

recommend-

ed

that

this

switch

be

depressed

at

all

times,

even

if

no

turntable

rumble

is

apparent.

LOUDNESS

switch

—

Bass

notes

are

boosted

at

low

listening

levels.

This

precisely

offsets

a

characteristics

of

human

hearing

whereby

we

are

less

sensitive

to

bass

notes

very

protector

This

unit

employs

thermal

protector

circuit

which

automatically

shuts

off

the

power

or

fades

out

sound

if

temperature

inside

the

amplifier

becomes

unusually

high.

The

protector

automatically

restores

the

power

when

the

temperature

drops

to

the

normal

level

and

the

cause

of

the

unusual

temperature

rise

must

be

removed

before

the

power

is

restored.

Unusually

high

temperatures

may

be

caused

in

poor

ventila-

tion

condition

or

by

a

shorted

output

circuit.

Prior

to

operation

It

is

recommended

that

rarely

used

controls

and

swit-

ches

be

preset

in

accordance

with

your

preference

in

order

to

simplify

operation.

these

and

have

been

preset,

The

setting

of

this

switch

to

PHONO,

directly

connects

the

tape

deck

to

source

signals;

the

desired

source

signal

for

the

record-

ing

is

fed

to

the

TAPE

REC

jacks

regardless

of

the

set-

ting

of

the

input

selector

switches.

By

setting

this

switch

to

OFF

with

a

tape

deck

con-

nected,

the

tape

deck

REC

connection

is

isolated

from

the

amplifier’s

signal

path,

therefore,

the

source

signals

are

not

affected

by

tape

deck’s

impedance.

In

this

respect,

set

this

switch

to

OFF

when

not

recording.

Recording

of

AM/FM

broadcasts

while

listening

to

records

1.

Press

the

PHONO

input

selector

switch.

2.

Operate

the

turntable.

3.

Set

the

REC

OUT

switch

to

TUNER

and

receive

the

AM/FM

broadcast.

Operate
