POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
Some appliances are equippe with a polarize plug (one bla e is
wi er than the other). To re uce the risk of electric shock, this plug
will fit into the polarize outlet only one way. If the plug oes not
properly fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still oes not fit,
contact a competent qualifie electrician. Do not attempt to modify
the plug in any way.
For appliances equippe with a stan ar plug, simply insert the plug
into the outlet without paying attention to the way you plug it.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cor is provi e to re uce the hazar s resulting
from becoming entangle in, or tripping over a longer cor . The use
of an extension cor is not recommen e .
However, if you make use of an extension cor , care is to be
exercise in their use:
• The electrical rating of the extension cor shoul be at least
that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cor is too low, it coul overheat an burn.
• The resulting exten e cor shoul be arrange so that it will
not rape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be
pulle on by chil ren or trippe over.

USE
• Put the appliance on a stable, ry an heat resistant surface,
near a power outlet.
• The thermostat knobs must be on their minimum position (MIN),
an the switch must be in off position. Make sure the heating
elements are properly installe before putting any object on
them.
• Plug in the appliance.
• Before the first use, preheat the appliance for 10 minutes in or er
to fix the protective coating on the heating elements. To o so,
press the on/off switch. Its pilot light will come on, in icating that
the appliance is switche on. Turn the thermostat knobs to their
maximum position (MAX). After 10 minutes, turn the thermostat
knobs to MIN an switch off the appliance to let it cool own.
Your appliance is now rea y for use.
• Always use flat-bottome saucepans especially conceive for
electric cooking plates. The saucepan bases shoul i eally be of
the same size as the cooking plates to avoi a waste of heat an
energy.
• Press the on/off switch. Its pilot light will come on, in icating that
the appliance is switche on.
• Turn the thermostat knobs to the right until you reach the esire
temperature setting. The heating elements start heating. The
heating element with the most compact heating spiral will heat
more intensely. Caution: if one of the heating elements is not in
use, let its thermostat on the minimum position (MIN) in or er to
avoi burns.
• Due to the cooking plates’ construction, resi ual heat will remain
after switching off. This may be use to keep foo warm for a
short perio .

• After use, turn the thermostat knobs to "MIN" an unplug the
appliance from electrical outlet.
CLEANING AND CARE
• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance an wait for it to cool
own.
• Wipe the bo y with moistene cloth or paper towels.
• To clean un er the heating elements, wait until the heating
elements have totally coole own. It is possible to lift up the
heating elements partly in or er to clean the surface un er the
heating elements with soft amp cloth. Caution, when you lift up
the heating elements, never force, as this could damage them.
• After cleaning, make sure to put the heating elements back in
the correct position before using the appliance again.
• Do not clean with any abrasive scouring pa or steel wool, as this
will amage the finish.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liqui .

UTILIZACIÓN
• Coloque el aparato en un superficie llana, seca y resistente al
calor, cerca e una toma e corriente.
• Los termostatos eben ser coloca os en la posición mínima
“MIN”, y el interruptor en posición apaga a. Compruebe que las
resistencias estén bien fija as antes e poner cualquier cosa por
encima.
• Enchufe el aparato.
• Antes e la primera utilización, eje calentar el aparato urante
10 minutos a fin e fijar el barniz e protección e los elementos
calenta ores y arle su máxima resistencia. Para ello, pulse el
interruptor. El testigo luminoso se encien e para in icar que el
aparato está en tensión. Gire los termostatos en posición “MAX”.
Después e 10 minutos, apague el aparato y éjelo enfriar.
