Preface
Thank you for purchasing MD021 inverter. The MD021 inverter is
specially designed for wire drawing machine which has high
requirements on installation, commissioning and reliability. In
addition, it can be used as a general purpose inverter when special
functions for wire drawing machine are shielded.
This manual is a guide to the operations of MD021 series inverter.
Please read this manual carefully before performing operations and
keep it properly for future use.
Unpacking and Inspection
Check that the following requirements are met after unpacking the
box:
1) The box contains the equipment and user manual. (operation panel
and operation panel wire are optional parts additional to the standard
configuration).
2) The equipment is packed using a plastic bag. The plastic parts are
intact without damage.
3) The model on the nameplate is the same as your order.

Chapter 1 Safety and Precautions
In this manual, the safety precautions are graded based on the degree
of danger:
: indicates that severe personal injury even death
may result due to improper operation.
: indicates that minor personal injury or equipment
damage may result due to improper operation.
1.1 Precautions for Installation
The temperature of the running environment for the inverter
must be within –10℃to +50℃. The temperature of the
storage environment for the inverter must be within –20℃to
+50℃. In addition, the inverter must be stored with the
original package.
Do not use the damaged inverter or inverter with
missing parts. Otherwise, there may be risk of injury.
Contact the agencies or Inovance.
Mount the inverter on incombustible surface, and keep it

away from flammable substances. Otherwise, it may cause
fire.
When more than two inverters are to be installed in
one cabinet, pay attention to the installation locations
(refer to Chapter 3 "Mechanical and Electrical
Installation") to ensure the cooling effect.
Do not drop the lead wire stub or screw into the
inverter. Otherwise, it may damage the inverter.
Correctly connect the input power wires (L, N),
ground wire (PE), and output wires (U, V and W).
Otherwise, it may damage the inverter.
Ensure that the wiring meets the EMC requirements
and the local safety standard. The wire size shall be
determined according to the manual. Otherwise,
accident may occur.
1.2 Precautions for Running
1. Maintenance and repair shall be performed by the professional
engineering technician; otherwise there will be personal injury or

damage on to the equipment. Maintenance and repair shall be
performed upon after power off; otherwise, there will be risk of
electric shock may result.
2. Perform insulation test when the motor is used for the first time, or
when it is reused after being stored for a long time, or in a regular
checkup, aiming to prevent the poor insulation of motor windings
from damaging the inverter. The motor must be disconnected from the
inverter during the insulation test. A 500 V mega-ohm meter is
recommended, and the tested insulation resistance must not be less
than 5 MΩ.
3. Perform periodic inspection on the terminals to check that the
screws and wiring terminals are not loose. If they are loose, do the
maintenance.
