Initial Drive
Information
This section provides a brief
overview about some of the
important features that may be fitted
to your vehicle.
For more detailed information, refer
to each of the features which can be
found later in this owner's manual.
Stop/Start System
The vehicle has a fuel saving
engine Stop/Start system to shut off
the engine (perform an Auto Stop)
and help conserve fuel and reduce
emissions when the vehicle is at a
standstill, e.g. at traffic lights.
When conditions allow, the vehicle
is at a complete stop and the brake
pedal is pressed, the engine may
turn off.
When the brake pedal is released or
the accelerator pedal is pushed, the
engine will restart. See Automatic
Engine Start/Stop Feature 0246.
Press "to unlock the doors, tailgate
and fuel filler door. Open the doors
by pulling the handles.
To open the tailgate, push the brand
emblem (Liftback) or touchpad under
the tailgate moulding (Sportwagon,
Tourer).
Press Qto lock the doors, tailgate
and fuel filler door.

Remote Start
Remote vehicle start allows the
engine to be started from outside
the vehicle.
The remote vehicle start button /is
on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter.
Starting the Vehicle
To start the engine using the remote
vehicle start feature:
1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the
vehicle.
2. Press and release Q.
3. Immediately after completing
step 2, press and hold /for at
least four seconds or until the
hazard warning lights flash.
The hazard warning lights
flashing confirms the request to
start the vehicle remotely has
been received.
The engine starts, the doors
will remain locked and the
climate control system may
come on.
