I. INTRODUCTION
TheHamiltonTokenVendor is acompactunit,designedto work with theACWG/L,todispensea token or
multipletokenswhen aselectionismade.Theunitcan holdapproximately1200quartersizetokens.
WARNING – If the Autocashier is programmed to dispense promotional tokens
and the Token Dispenser and its interface harness are not properly installed the
machine will dispense coins from the change hopper instead of tokens. If you wish
to disconnect the Token Dispenser for any length of time be sure to program each
wash to dispense zero (0) tokens.

WhenInstallingtheHamiltonTokenVendoryouwillneedtorun6wiresfromtotheACWG/LtotheHamilton
Token Vendor,ratedatleast18Gage.
Recommendedwirecolors are:
Black - Hot
White-Neutral
Green-Ground
Red - Hopper
Red/White-Drop
Purple-HopperReturn
Itisalso recommendedthattheyarerunusingconduit.
Consultlocalcodesbeforeinstalling.

Unpacking
Thereareanumberof pointstokeepinmindwhileunpackingyourHamiltonTokenVendor.Theseitemswill
maketheinstallation andcontinuedoperation ofyourmachine runsmoother.Thesetipsare listedbelow.
Be sure to save your key
Thekey is placed inside a small cloth bag and attached to the outside ofthemachine.Whenremovingthe
shrink-wrap, be sure to locate the bag containing the key and set it aside so it does not get thrown away.
NOTE:MAKEAPERMANENTRECORDOFTHENUMBERONYOURKEYINCASEKEYIS
LOSTAND MUST BE REORDERED.
Remove the packing strap from the hopper
The hopper comes shipped with a packing strap secured around it to minimize the vibrations caused by
shipping.Ifthis strapisnot removed,thehopperwillnottipoutforeasyfilling. Thestrapmay becutoffwith
a pair of wire cutters or sturdy scissors. Cardboard is placed around the edges of the hopper to protect it
duringshipping.If strappingwillnotpull outfrombeneathhopper plate thenloosenthe3 #1/4nutsholding
plateandtryagain.Oncestrappingisout,tightenthe3#1/4nuts.Thenbesuretoremovethe cardboard as
well.
Remove all packing debris from hopper
Duringunpacking,ensurethatdebrisdoesnotfallintohopperbowl.If thismaterialisnotremoved,thehopper
couldjam.Withthepowercompletely disconnected,removeallloose materialinsidethe hopperbowl.

To prepare the site, Hamilton recommends the placing of four anchoring bolts into the concrete with the
threadsextendingatleast1¼”abovethesurface.Usethepreviousdiagramstodeterminetheplacementofthe
bolts.Pleasefollow allapplicablelocalcodes.
Itisalsorecommendedthatthewiring berunthroughtheconcreteandupthroughthecenterofthebase,using
flexibleconduit.

Installation
1. Make surethereisnopowerin the sixwiresruntothe HamiltonTokenVendor.
2. Open up cabinetandunplugandremovehopper and set aside.
3. Using aPhillipsheadscrewdriver,anda 7/16" socketwrenchremovefour #1/4-20 nuts
lockwashersandscrews,(these#1/4nuts, lockwashers and screwsareusedforshippingpurposes
only)thiswillallowyoutoremovethehopperplate.
4. Place cabinetonbaseandrun wiresupthroughconduit holeinbottomofcabinet.
5. Connect wirestoDualTerminal stripasshownon diagram.(page9)
Note:Forproperwireconnectionsconsultacertifiedelectrician.
6. Place hopper platebackinpositionandtighten to base usingfour#5/16-18screws,with ¼” hex
key. (page 10)
7. Replace hopperinmachineand pluginthehopper.
