The Ideal Halo Lite RF is a wireless PRT with a wired
receiver to the boiler or heatpump
The Halo unit is powered by 4 AA batteries and
communicates with the Halo Lite Receiver unit on
a 868MHz frequency, a local RF protocol.
3. SAFETY INFORMATION
The Halo Lite RF must be installed by a competent
person with the appropriate safety qualifications.
Please read the instructions carefully. Failure to
follow these instructions can damage the product
or cause a hazardous condition.
These instructions are applicable to the Ideal
Boiler / heat pump models stated and must not
be used with any other make or model of boiler.
This product must be installed to all applicable
standards.
Always isolate the mains supply before installing
or working on any components relating to the
boiler or heat pump electronics.

4. LOCATION GUIDELINES
The Halo uses wireless RF communication between the control and the Reciever,
up to a maximum range of 30 metres. Occasionally house construction and materials can reduce this
communication range and it is advisable, where possible, to try and avoid directing communication through
metal frames or solid concrete walls

G. The receiver should be mounted close to a
230 Vac fused supply.
H. The receiver should be mounted
horizontally on the wall at least 1m from
the floor.

A. Using a suitable screwdriver turn the locking key one quarter turn anticlockwise to the [UNLOCK]
position. Remove the front panel by lifting the bottom edge first. Assemble in reverse order. Always
remember to lock the front panel to the Halo Lite Receiver. The receiver is supplied out of the box in
the [UNLOCK] position.
B. To mount directly onto the wall, mark and drill
mounting holes and fix the bracket to the wall
using suitable fixings for the wall type.
C. To mount over the electrical box, place the
bracket over the electrical box and fix into
place.
5. INSTALLATION OF THE HALO LITE RF RECEIVER
The Halo Lite RF Receiver must be installed by a competent person with the appropriate safety
qualifications. All wiring must be adequately sheathed and insulated.
Isolate any 230 Vac mains supply to the Halo Lite RF Receiver and any other linked components
before commencing works.

D. Isolate mains supply. E. From the fuse spur wire the Live, Neutral and
Earth connections into the right hand side
connections marked L, N, (E). The wiring can
be rear entry or surface mounted.
If installing with an Ideal boiler continue to Section 5.1. If installing with a Logic Air Heat Pump go to
Section 5.2 on page 12.

5.1 Installing the Halo Lite RF Receiver with a Boiler
The below refers to the Ideal logic2combi boilers. For other models, please refer to the boilers installation
manual to locate connections.
Wiring Guidelines
The Boiler connection to the Ideal Halo Lite RF receiver should only be wired into the OpenTherm low
voltage connection and should not be connected to a 230 Vac supply. If utilising existing wiring, please
ensure that the wiring is not connected to a 230 Vac supply.
Opentherm Cable Details:
• Length between receiver to boiler is 50 meters maximum
• Core diameter - 0.5 – 1.0 mm diameter should be used, multi strand should be tinned
• Should not be adjacent to any 230 Vac cabling
