Dear customer

Thank you for having chosen a HÆGER product.

The HÆGER products have been produced to think about the welfare of the

consumer privileging the most raised standards of quality, functionality and

assign. We are sure you will be happy with this appliance.

We assume that the user is familiar with the common procedures of handling

household appliances.

Before using the appliance for the first time please read carefully and

thoroughly through these operating instructions and the safety advice,

completely familiarising yourself with the appliance. Retain these instructions for

future reference and pass them on to whoever might acquire the appliance at

a future date.

General Safety Instructions

–Read the instructions carefully before use and save them for future

reference.

–Always disconnect the heater from the main supply when not in use and

when cleaning.

–Do not leave the heater “ON” unattended.

Never cover the heater as this may lead to risk of fire.

–Keep the heaters a distance of at least 90cm from any combustible

material, such as furniture, curtains, bedding clothes or papers;

–Keep the heater clean. Do not allow objects to enter the ventilation, as this

may cause electric shock, fire or damage the heater.

–Close supervision is required when any appliance is used near or by

children.

–Never allow the cord to touch wet or hot surfaces, become twisted or be

within the reach of children.

–Do not use outdoors.

–Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner.

–Never use the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the

appliance has malfunctioned or been damaged in any way.

–Never attempt to open any part or dismantle the controls. Responsibility for

failure cannot be accepted if these instructions have been ignored.

–Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.

–This appliance is intended for household use only.

–Regulations concerning the disposal of the oil when scraping the

appliance have to be followed.

–Any repairs that need to be done to the heater must be referred to an

authorized service agent only.

–Warning! The appliance remains hot even when it has been switched off!

Allow to cool completely before packing away.

–If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or

its service agent in order to avoid a hazard.

–The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.

Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a

shower or a swimming pool.

–This heater is filled with a precise quantity of specialist oil. Repairs requiring

opening of the oil container are only to be made by the manufacturer or

his service agent who should be contacted if there is an oil leakage.

Regulations’ concerning the disposal of the oil when scrapping the

appliance has to be followed.

Children and infirm persons

In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic

bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of

suffocation!

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and

persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of

experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand

the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.

Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the

appliance.

WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, never under any circumstances cover

the appliances during operation, as this would lead to dangerous overheating.

CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal

cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching

device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on

and off by the utility.

Before using for the first time

–Check when you are unpacking the appliance that it is not damaged in

any way.

–Do not use the appliance in rooms with a surface area of less than 4m².

Connection

–The radiator must be connected to a perfectly functioning 230-240 V AC

socket.

–The installation of a faulty current protective device with a rated breaking

current offers you additional safety by ensuring that 30mA will not be

exceeded in the house installation. Let your installation electrician advice

you. Danger also exists with appliance which have been switched off, this is

why, after use, the plug should be removed for the mains.

–Do not connect the unit to a self-starting plug (e.g. time switch or

thermostat).If the heating element switches on automatically and is covered

by a cloth or if it is not placed at an adequate distance from other objects,

danger of overheating and fire may arise!

–Avoid contact between clothing, household linen, furniture, inflammable

material and the socket providing power to the radiator.

Operation

1. Position the appliance in a safe place, freestanding (with at least 90cm

clearance).

2. Make sure that the thermostat regulator (3) is in the “LOW”position.

3. Plug in the appliance to the power socket.

4. Turn on the appliance when the thermostat regulator (3) is turned

clockwise.

Usage

The thermostat automatically regulates the required room temperature.

1. Slowly turn the thermostat (3) in a clockwise direction until a click is heard

and the on-/off switch goes red. The click shows the current room

temperature.

(Suitable for rooms up to 6-8m2)

2. To increase the temperature, turn the variable thermostat (3) to the right. To

reduce the temperature, turn the variable thermostat (3) to the left. The

appliance will turn itself on and off automatically to regulate the room

temperature.

Do not cover the heater at any time during operation. There is a risk of fire if the

heater is covered.

3. Once you have finished using your heater, turn the power switches off, and

the thermostat control switch to the “LOW”positions, and unplug from the

mains supply.

IMPORTANT: When in use, the radiator should always be kept vertical. Any

other position could be dangerous!

–This radiator is oil-filled and therefore takes a long time to cool down.

–Only move the appliance using the handle.

–Never touch the element (4). Danger of burning!

–Never leave anything on top of the heater. Fire Hazard!

Cleaning and care

–Always remove the plug and make sure that the appliance has fully cooled

down before cleaning or dusting.

–Only a damp cloth should be used to clean the appliance, after which it

should be dried.

–Do not use scourers, scouring agents or solvents.

–Protect from dust of dirt if stored for long periods.

Storing

1. Save the box for off season storage.

2. Clean the heater following the cleaning instructions above.

3. Remove the supports base.

4. Place the heater, and supports in the original box, and store in a cool and

dry place.

5. If you choose to store your heater fully assembled, be sure to cover it to

protect it from dust.

CE guidelines, such as:

and has been constructed in accordance with the latest safety regulations.

The CE mark attests this product with all relevant directives.

Environment

Please consider our environment

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This

product is subject to the European guideline 2012/19/EU.

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your

community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case

of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally responsible manner.

When you wish to dispose of the appliance, remove the cable and dispose it in

an environmentally friendly way (e.g. recycling plant).

Guarantee

This unit is covered by a 24 months (*) warranty, from the purchase date, and

covers the repair free of charges of the damaged due to the manufacturer

fault or defected components. The distributor reserves the right to change the

unit for an equivalent model.

The warranty does not cover any damaged caused by incorrect use, lightning,

incorrect installation, external factors or any intentional damaged. The warranty

does not cover damage thus attributable to falls, blows, spill, exposure to

extreme environmental conditions or deterioration caused by normal use of

plastic parts or keyboards, as well as by the use of batteries other than those

specified in this manual.

For the repairing, during the warranty period, the unit shall be sent to the

distributor or reseller, or to the address indicated by them, and must be jointed

the warranty certificated and the respective original invoice or selling ticket,

where the buying date is expressed indicated.

The consumer is protected by the guarantee provided by Directive 1999/44/CE

of European Parliament and Council of 25 May.

–Desligue sempre o radiador da alimentação, quando não está em uso e

durante a limpeza.

–Não deixe o aquecedor ligado sem vigilância.

Nunca, cubra o aquecedor para evitar incêndios.

–Coloque o aquecedor a uma distância de pelo menos 90 centímetros de,

quaisquer materiais combustíveis, tais como móveis, cortinas, lençóis ou

papéis.

–Mantenha o radiador limpo. Não deixe objectos entrar nas aberturas de

ventilação, pois podem causar choque eléctrico, incêndio ou danos ao

radiador.

–Supervisiona de perto quando usado perto de crianças.

–Não permita que o fio entre em contacto com superfícies quentes ou

húmidos, ou fique torcido ou esteja acessível às crianças.

–Nunca utilize o aparelho ao ar livre.

–Não coloque sobre ou perto de gás ou queimador eléctrico.

–Nunca use o aparelho com o cabo ou a ficha danificado ou quando o

aparelho está com defeito ou foi danificado de alguma forma.

–Nunca tente desmontar qualquer parte ou controles. Responsabilidade

pelo fracasso não serão aceites se estas instruções forem ignoradas.

–Não use o aparelho par outros fins que não o habitual.

–Devem ser respeitadas as normas relativas à eliminação do azeite durante

a raspagem do aparelho.

–Qualquer reparação que deva ser feita ao aquecedor deve ser

–Atenção! O aparelho permanece quente mesmo quando desligado!

Deixe-o arrefecer completamente antes de arrumar.

–Se o cabo de alimentação estiver danificado, deve ser substituído pelo

fabricante ou por um técnico qualificado a fim de evitar perigo.

–O aparelho não deve ser colocado imediatamente abaixo de uma

tomada.

Não utilizar o aparelho nas proximidades de banheiras, chuveiros ou

piscinas.

–Este radiador é preenchido com uma quantidade precisa de óleo

especial. As reparações que requerem a abertura do recipiente de óleo

só devem ser feitas apenas pelo fabricante ou pelo seu mandatário, que

deve ser contactado em caso de vazamento do óleo. Devem ser

seguidos todos os regulamentos relativos à eliminação do óleo quando

retirados.

Crianças e pessoas débeis

Para a segurança dos seus filhos, não deixe partes da embalagem (sacos

plásticos, papelão, esferovite, etc.) ao alcance dos mesmos.

Não deixe crianças pequenas brincarem com os sacos de plástico. Existe

sempre o perigo de asfixia!

Este aparelho pode ser utilizado por crianças com idade a partir de 8 anos

e por pessoas com capacidades físicas, sensoriais ou mentais ou falta de

experiência e conhecimento, se tiverem recebido supervisão ou instruções

relativas à utilização do aparelho de forma segura e entender os riscos

envolvidos. Qualquer limpeza e ou manutenção não deve ser feito por

crianças a não ser que tenham idade superior a 8 anos e sejam

supervisionados.

As crianças devem ser supervisionadas para garantir que elas não

brinquem com o aparelho.

AVISO: Para evitar sobreaquecimentos, nunca cubra o aparelho enquanto está

a funcionar. Tal poderá provocar um perigoso aumento da temperatura.
