TFA-500

100 V LINE TRANSFORMER FOR AMPLIFIERS

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

TFA-500_MANUAL_(EN)_20190702.qxp_Maquetación 1 2/7/19 9:16 Página 1

DESCRIPTION

The TFA-500 is a 100 V line transformer for amplifiers. It converts the amplifier or low impedance (4-8 Ω)

stereo power amp output into a high impedance output for loudspeakers with 100 or 70 V line transformer.

CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS

FRONT PANEL

1.- CH A/CH B: LEDs that light up when a signal is detected at input CH A or CH B respectively.

REAR PANEL

1.- OUTPUTS CH A/CH B: output terminals for 100 V and 70 V line loudspeakers, threaded terminals.

2.- STEREO/PARALLEL: selector that allows you to choose the operating mode. You can choose between

stereo mode (2 input channels and 2 output channels) or parallel mode (only 1 input channel (CH A) and

2 output channels).

3.- INPUTS CH A/CH B: speaker signal inputs for low impedance amplifiers 4-8 Ω, screw terminals and

banana plugs..

In PARALLEL mode the input is only CH A.

CONNECTION

Note that the inputs you connect to the TFA-500 must be 4-8 Ω speaker outputs from a low-impedance

amplifier.

All loudspeakers connected to the TFA-500 outputs must always be connected in parallel mode and the

power of all loudspeakers combined must not exceed the power supported by the TFA-500 (500 W RMS per

channel).

STEREO MODE

In this mode, the two channels operate independently. That is, input CH A must go to output CH A, and input

CH B must go to output CH B.

Set the operating mode on the rear of the power amplifier to STEREO.

Connect the 4-8 Ω amplifier speaker outputs to CH A and CH B inputs, respectively.

Finally, connect the 100 V speaker lines in compliance with the requirements of a 100 V line installation.

PARALLEL MODE

In this mode, there will be one single signal input, CH A. The signal of the CH A input can go to either output

CH A and/or output CH B, both outputs are the same.

Set the operating mode on the rear of the power amplifier to PARALLEL.

Connect the amplifier's 4-8 Ω speaker output to the CH A input .

Finally, connect the 100 V speaker lines in compliance with the requirements of a 100 V line installation.
