Chapter Three
3.1 Power supply and charge
Before using the navigator for the first time please charge it fully using the mains
adapter.
3.1.1 Power supply
There are three methods of supplying power: battery, adaptor, USB cable.
The navigator uses the built in Li-battery to supply power when it is not connected
with an adaptor. The mark on the top right of the screen indicates the current
charge.
The navigator uses the external power when it is connected with an adaptor.
The navigator uses the USB cable to supply power when the GPS connects to the
PC but please be aware that a PC USB port cannot supply much power and may
charge the battery slowly if it all.
Note: The length of time the navigator can run from the backup battery will vary
depending on the use of the navigator. Some functions (audio playing, video playing,
bright back light) will consume more power which will reduce the battery life.
Note: The navigator has a built-in, unchangeable Lithium battery. In order to avoid
fire or burning please do not poke, bump or take it apart or throw it into fire or water.
3.1.2 Use the mains adapter to supply power
When the navigator is first used please use the AC adaptor to fully charge it.
1. Connect the mini USB plug from the adaptor to the socket on the side of the
navigator.
2. Plug the mains plug into the mains, the adapter will power the navigator as well as
charge the battery.
The red LED indicates it is being charged. Please wait until it is fully charged and

5
don’t pull out the adaptor while charging. When it is fully-charged, the LED will turn to
Blue. If the navigator has a low battery or no battery left, please charge it
immediately.
3.1.2 Use the car adaptor to supply power
1. Connect the mini USB plug from the adaptor to the socket on the side of the
navigator.
2. Plug the cigarette lighter plug into the socket in the car, the adapter will power the
navigator as well as charge the battery.
3.2.1 Power on
Please check the battery is charged or it is connected to external power source.
Press the button for a few seconds on the top of the unit to turn it on.
Note: If condensation forms on the unit when moving it from one environment to
another please allow it to clear before turning the unit on to avoid damage.
3.2.2 Power off or sleep
Press the button on the top of the unit for a couple of seconds to turn off, the unit will
ask you if you want to turn it off or put it to sleep. When in sleep mode the unit will still
use some power but will return to the same state it was in when turned back on.

If the system does not work you can reset it in the following way:
Insert a straightened paperclip into the reset hole on the rear of the unit and press
the hidden button inside.

files. Press the card in gently with your finger nail and it will pop out slightly so that
you can remove it, to reinsert push it into the slot until it clicks and locks in place.
