Getting Started
This is a simple step by step guide to
setting up and operating the Epson Powerlite
projector
1Plug in the projectors power cable and press the power button.
2Plug in the projector’s VGA cable, tightening the screws on the
plug. Plug the other end into the computer or other compatible device
capable of video output.
3Focus the projector’s lens so that the picture is clear and well
dened. For best results, use a projection screen (a large white wall
works just as well!)
4You are done! For further instruction on how to operate the
projector with an OSX or Windows 7 computer, consult the sections
below.

Operating with Win7
This is a quick guide on how to operate a
projector using a computer running Microsofts
Windows 7 Operating System.
1Connect the your computer to the projector via VGA, DVI, or
HDMI cord, or using a MiniDisplayport to VGA adapter. The projector
should automatically project the computer’s desktop as a Duplicated
display.
2If the projector is not automatically enabled, open up the Start
Menu, go to Control Panel, and under the Display section, select
‘Connect to a Projector’
3From here, you can select how you would like your computer to
handle projection in 4 ways: from either a Duplicated or Extended
desktop, or limiting the display to only the Projector, or the Monitor.
A Duplicate desktop will show what your computer display will show
on the projector, while an Extended display will stretch your display to
the left or right of your screen. You can learn more about Extended vs
Duplicate displays in the Tips and Tricks section.
Pressing the Windows Key + P will cycle between these modes on
Windows 7.
4You are done! If you have any problems, be sure to check the
Troubleshooting section.

Tips and Tricks
1Extended Displays extend your desktop to the left or right of the screen (depending on how you have
it set up), this can be useful for a presentation, where you can prepare or open up windows and then move
them from your screen to the projectors without showing your screen to the audience.
2Duplicate (or Mirrored) Displays show a 1 to 1 copy of your screen on the projector. The drawbacks of
Duplicate Displays, however, is that many projectors cannot support the same resolution as a computer
display, so to compensate both Windows and OSX will lower the computer’s display resolution to that of
the projector’s, leading to occasional distortion of the computer’s display.
3Projectors generate lots of heat; make sure the projector is in a well ventilated space before
prolonged usage. Make sure to allow the projector time to cool down before packing it, as to avoid damaging
the bulb
4Projectors also come with built in audio speakers; to use them in OSX, open System Preferences, go
to the Sound, and then in the Output tab, select the projector.
For Windows 7, go to the Control Panel, then the sound section, and select the Projector from there.
The audio volume of the projector can be controlled through the menu, or with a remote, if it is included
with the projector.
