Charging
1. Plug the charger's power cord into the wall socket. The indicator light ashes green (2)
2. Place the battery rmly in the charging opening. The indicator turns red (1) when the battery
is charging and has less than 80% charge, when the battery has more than 80% charge,
the green light (1+2) also lights up. Note: Do not short-circuit the charger by inserting foreign
objects into the charger opening. This will damage the charger.
3. Charging takes approx. 20 minutes (to 80% capacity) or approx. 45 minutes (to 100% capacity).
When charging is complete, only the green light (2) lights. Note: If the indicator indicates
high temperature, the red light ashes (1), take the battery out of the charger, and let it
cool down before trying to charge it again.
4. When the battery is depleted and can no longer be used, both the red and green lights ash
at the same time.

Connection/disconnection of the battery
1. To connect the battery, push it into the tool until it reaches the stop position.
2. To disconnect the battery, pull it while pressing the latch.
3. Make sure the battery is properly connected by gently pulling it without pressing the latches.
Use of the control switch
There are three different steps on the control switch on the tool.
1. By sliding the switch to the left, the cutting blade moves forward and thus presses it together.
2. By pushing the switch to the middle position, the cutter is placed in a neutral position and
cannot be operated forward or backward.
3. By sliding the switch to the right, the cutting blade moves backwards and thus the blades
open up.
As soon as the tool is not used, the switch should be in the middle position.

PKL54C | USER INSTRUCTIONS 9
ATTENTION
Keep ngers away from the edges of the cutting
blades when inserting the moving blade into the
gear mechanism. The control switch may have
moved out of neutral mode.
Cutting
1. Open the moving blade with the control switch.
2. Place the cable to be cut against the xed blade, and close the moving blade around the cable
by hand, so that the gear rim engages with the tool’s drive mechanism.
3. Press the control switch in the forward direction (to the left) to cut the cable. Keep the control
switch pushed in until the cable is completely cut.
4. To cut several smaller cables in succession, the forward and back setting of the switch can be
used alternately so that the gear rim is constantly engaged with the drive mechanism.
5. Clean any dust and particles stuck in the brush after work.
Maintenance
Daily maintenance should ensure that the tool is kept in good working order.
If the tool is maintained regularly, the tool will function smoothly.
• After use, look for scratches or dents on the blades. If there are scratches, these can be removed
using a at grindstone. Clean, sharp blades provide better and safer performance and put less
load on the tool.
• The plastic casing can be cleaned using a soft annel. Use lubricant to clean the blades
if necessary.
• Keep the handle dry and free from grease.
• Do not allow the tool to fall to the ground or in the bag to avoid damage to internal parts of
the plastic casing.
• Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store the tool in places with high temperatures, high humidity
or direct sunlight.
• Notify authorised dealers in case of deviations or malfunction of the product.
• The blades are replaceable wear parts. Replace the blades with new ones if they are damaged
or worn.
Note: Always remove the battery before replacing parts or servicing.
