INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Before operating your new appliance, please read all instructions carefully

and keep for future reference.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances,

especially when children are present,

basic safety precautions should

always be followed including the

following:

•

READ AND SAVE ALL

INSTRUCTIONS.

•Do not touch hot surfaces. Use

handles or knobs.

•To protect against electrical

shock NEVER immerse the entire

toaster or the electrical cord in

water or any other liquid.

•Close supervision is necessary

when any appliance is used by or

near children.

•Unplug from outlet when not in

use and before cleaning. Allow to

cool before putting on or taking

off parts and before cleaning.

•Do not operate any appliance

with a damaged cord or plug or

after the appliance malfunctions

or has been damaged in any

manner. Return appliance to the

nearest authorized service

facility for examination, repair,

or adjustment.

•The use of accessory

attachments is not

recommended by the appliance

manufacturer and may cause

injuries to the user.

•Do not use outdoors.

•Do not let cord hang over edge

of table or counter, or touch hot

surfaces.

•Do not place on or near a hot gas

or electric burner, or in a heated

oven.

•Always attach plug to appliance

first, then plug cord into the wall

outlet. To disconnect, turn any

control to “off”, then remove

plug from wall outlet.

•Do not use appliance for other

than intended use.

•Oversize foods, metal foil

packages or utensils must not be

inserted in a toaster as they may

create a risk of fire or electric

shock.

•A fire may occur if toaster is

covered by or touching

flammable material, including

curtains, draperies, walls, and the

like, when in operation.

•Do not attempt to dislodge food

when toaster is plugged in. Do

not attempt to dislodge food

with metal utensils while the

toaster is operating and/or

plugged into the electrical

outlet. Doing so will lead to

serious personal injury.

•When the appliance is plugged

into the electrical outlet, and

moreover, while it is turned on,

never place hands, utensils, or

any other object into the bread

toasting slots.

•Do not attempt to plug the

appliance into the electrical

outlet with wet or damp hands.

•Unplug the appliance from the

electrical outlet when it is not in

use.

•Do not unplug the appliance

from the outlet by pulling on the

cord.

•Do not leave this appliance

unattended while in use.

•If the appliance begins to

malfunction, stop using

immediately. Do not attempt to

repair the appliance. Contact

customer service or another

authorized agent.

SHORT CORD PURPOSE

NOTE:

A short power cord is

provided to reduce the risk of

personal injury resulting from

becoming entangled in or

tripping over a longer cord.

Longer power-supply cords or

extension cords are available and

may be used if care is exercised in

their use.

If an extension cord is used: (1)

the marked electrical rating of

the extension cord should be at

least as great as the electrical

rating of the product; (2) the

extension cord should be

arranged so that it will not drape

over the countertop or tabletop

where it can unintentionally be

pulled on or tripped over by

children or pets.

POLARIZED PLUG

If this appliance is equipped with

polarized plug

(one blade is

wider than the other), please

follow the below instructions:

To reduce the risk of electrical

shock, this plug is intended to fit

into a polarized outlet only one

way. If you are unable to fit the

plug into the electrical outlet, try

reversing the plug. If the plug

still does not fit, contact a

qualified electrician. Never use

the plug with an extension cord

unless the plug can be fully

inserted into the extension cord.

Do not alter the plug of the

product or any extension cord

being used with this product. Do

not attempt to defeat the safety

purpose of the polarized plug.

EFORE FIRST USE

•Carefully unpack the product

and remove all packaging

materials. Clean the toaster

thoroughly before using for

the first time. This serves to

remove any dust that may

have accumulated during

packaging. Do not use

abrasive cleansers when

cleaning. Do not immerse the

toaster or electrical cord in

water or any other liquid.

(See the “HOW TO CLEAN”

section for further

instructions.)

•During the first few uses you

may notice smoke and/or a

slight odor. This is normal and

should disappear with

subsequent use.

HOW TO USE THE TOASTER

•Before toasting, make sure

the Crumb Tray is in place

and that the Pop-up Lever is

in the up position. Check that

there is nothing in the

toaster slot. Plug power cord

into the wall outlet.

•Set the toaster on a flat,

stable, heat resistant surface

away from any edge and well

away from any wall, curtain,

or cabinet.

•When finished toasting,

unplug the toaster from

electrical outlet.

•

USE EXTREME CAUTION

WHEN REMOVING YOUR

ITEMS FROM THE TOASTER!

•Whenever a preset function

button is set, the

corresponding indicator light

will illuminate.

•CANCEL button may be used

at any time to interrupt the

toasting cycle.

TOASTING:

1. Insert the items into the

toast slot.

2. Be sure that multiple slices do

not overlap and the lever is in

the up position.

3. Select your desired toast

shade by setting the

browning control.

4. Push down the Pop-up Lever,

locking it into position.

5. When finished, the items will

pop up from the toaster.

6. Unplug the toaster when

done.



NOTE:

When selecting the

Defrost or Bagel function,

you must press the toasting

lever down befor

selecting

one of these settings.

BAGEL SETTING:

Use to toast a

wide variety of different bagels

and is for single side toasting:

only the center (inner) heating

elements will function.

1. Insert bagels into the

toasting slots.

NOTE:

Slice bagel into two

halves and place each half

into the toast slot.

DO NOT

INSERT A WHOLE BAGEL

INTO THE TOAST SLOT.

2. Select your desired toast

shade by setting the

browning control.

3. Push down the Pop-up Lever,

locking the bagel into

position.

4. Press the “BAGEL”button.

5. When finished, the bagel will

pop up from the toaster.

6. Unplug the toaster when

done.

HOW TO USE THE TOASTER

Notes on Specialty Uses:

The

following breads and pastries

should be warmed using the

"Defrost" button:

Frozen Waffles, Pancakes, French

Toast and Frozen Bagels

Toaster pastries:

Exercise caution

with toaster pastries; the filling

can become quite hot, long

before the surface of the pastry

becomes browned. Never leave

toaster pastries unattended while

toasting or warming.

DEFROST SETTING:

Uses a slightly

longer toasting cycle to prepare

your favorite frozen pastries.

1. Insert the frozen items into

the toast slot.

2. Select your desired toast

shade by setting the

browning control.

NOTE:

This setting already

uses a slightly longer cycle

for defrosting.

3. Push down the Pop-up Lever,

locking items into position.

4. Press the “DEFROST”button.

5. When finished, the items will

pop up from the toaster.

6. Unplug the toaster when

done.

Tips:

•When the

Defrost or Bagel

buttons are pressed, the relevant indicator

lights up and remains illuminated until the toast cycle is complete, or

until the

Cancel

button is

essed.

•When the toasting lever is pressed down, the

Cancel

button lights

and remains illuminated until it is pressed, or until the toast cycle is

complete.

•Never force foods into the toasting slot. Foods should fit freely

between the guide wires.

•Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven thickness.

•If you are toasting a single slice of bread, set the browning control to a

lower setting than normal so the toast won’t be over toasted.

CAUTION:

The wide toast slot helps to accommodate a variety of different

bread widths, as well as muffins, tea cakes, crumpets and bagels. However,

you should not force items into the slot which are clearly too large. If an

item does become jammed, switch toaster off and unplug from outlet

immediately. Once cooled, turn toaster upside down and gently shake to

remove whatever is stuck. Do not insert sharp or metal objects such as

knives or forks, as this may damage the heating element. Do not attempt to

dislodge items while the toaster is in operation or when it is plugged into an

electrical outlet, doing so will lead to serious personal injury.

HOW TO USE THE RADIO

Ensure that the toaster is plugged

into a power outlet.

Antenna:

•For FM, extend and rotate the

antenna for the best FM

reception. Keep the antenna

retracted when not being

used to avoid damage.

•

DO NOT position the antenna

over the bread slots.

•For AM reception the FM

aerial is not used and a built-

in aerial is used instead,

therefore, it might be

necessary to re-position the

toaster for optimum

reception.

On/Off/Volume Control:

•Press the On/Off/Volume

Control once to turn radio on

or to turn the radio off. The

radio automatically selects

the last source/station

selected.

•Rotate the On/Off/Volume

Control to the right (+) to

increase the volume or to the

left (-) to decrease the

volume.

•When you make an

adjustment, the display

indicates the selected

volume level. The volume

ranges from values 0-30.

EQ Preset Selector:

Press the EQ button repeatedly

to cycle through the five preset

equalizer settings.

AM/FM/AUX Selector (BAND):

•Press the Band button to

select the desired waveband

or AUX input. The display will

indicate the selected mode.

When switched to the

auxiliary input, the station

frequency will not be

displayed.

•To listen to an auxiliary

device, such as an MP3

player, plug it into the AUX

input jack located on the side

of the toaster. You will need

a lead with a 3.5mm stereo

jack on one end and a

connector suitable for your

auxiliary device on the other

(lead not supplied).

•Select AUX using the Band

button and playback will be

heard through the toaster

speaker.

Store Button:

Rotate the Store knob slowly to

the left or right to select your

desired radio station. To rapidly

scan through the stations, rotate

the knob quickly, then release.

The radio will automatically stop

on the next strongly received

station. To stop scanning turn the

knob either way once.

Storing stations:

1. Select either FM or AM.

2. Press the Store button to

select a preset number

(shown at the bottom of the

display).

3. Tune to the station you

would like to store in the

preset memory.

4. Press and hold the Store

button.

5. The preset number at the

bottom of the display will

start to flash, and then a

beep will be heard

confirming that the station

has been stored. The preset

number will then be

highlighted.

To listen to preset stations:

1. Select either FM or AM.

2. Press the Store button until

the desired station preset

number has been selected.

NOTES

•Toasting is a combination of

cooking and drying the

bread. Different types of

bread have different

moisture levels, which can

result in varying toasting

times.

•For slightly dry bread, use a

lower setting than you

normally would.

•For very fresh bread or whole

wheat bread, use a higher

setting than normal.

•Thickly cut pieces of bread

(including bagels) will take

longer to toast, sometimes

significantly longer, since

more moisture must be

evaporated from the bread

before toasting can occur.

Very thick pieces may require

two cycles.

•When toasting raisin or other

fruit breads, remove any

loose raisins, etc. from the

surface of the bread before

placing into the toaster. This

will help prevent fruit pieces

from falling into the toaster

or sticking on the guide wires

in the slot. Before toasting

bagels, slice each bagel into

two equal halves.

•The toaster is designed to

heat the whole toasting

chamber for two slices, so it

is preferred to operate the

toaster with two slices.

•Exercise caution when

toasting pastries. The filling

can become quite hot long

before the surface of the

pastry toasts fully.

•When the cycle is complete

the bread carriage will raise

the toast up. To terminate

the toasting cycle before it is

completed, simply press

down the cancel button.

Storage:

•

Always let your toaster cool down completely prior to storing,

especially if

is stored in a tightly enclosed space.

•Store the toaster with the cord wound up underneath the base.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

•

Always shut the toaster off,

unplug from the electrical

outlet and wait for it to cool

completely before cleaning.

•

DO NOT CLEAN THE

TOASTER WHILE IT IS

PLUGGED INTO THE

ELECTRICAL OUTLET!

•

DO NOT

use any abrasive

soaps, detergents, or

cleaning materials to clean

this appliance.

•

NEVER IMMERSE THE ENTIRE

TOASTER OR ELECTRICAL

CORD IN WATER OR ANY

OTHER LIQUID.

•

DO NOT

use any sharp,

pointed, or metal objects for

cleaning the inside of the

toaster—particularly when

the toaster is plugged into an

electrical outlet and/or when

it is operating—as this will

damage the heating elements

and lead to serious personal

injury.

•Keep the toaster unplugged

from the outlet when it is not

in use.

1. Simply wipe the exterior of

the toaster with a clean,

damp, soapy cloth.

NOTE

Do not apply any cleaning

agent directly onto the

toaster.

2. To remove any pieces of

bread stuck inside the toaster,

turn the toaster upside down

and shake gently. Never insert

any hard or sharp instrument

into the slots as this could

damage the toaster and cause

a safety hazard.

3. Dry all parts thoroughly

before re-assembling for

storage or for use.

4. Never wrap the cord around

the sides of the toaster. Wrap

the cord around the storage

cleats found beneath the

toaster.

Crumb tray - Remove crumbs after each use.

The crumb tray should be emptied regularly as a build-up of crumbs could

be a potential fire hazard.

•First, make sure the toaster is completely shut-off, unplug it from the

electrical outlet, and allow it to cool down thoroughly.

•The crumb tray is located on the bottom of the side opposite of the

control panel.

•Slide out the crumb tray, discard the crumbs and wipe the tray clean

with a dry or damp

cloth

, and wipe the crumb trays clean. Always make

sure the crumb trays are completely dry before re-inserting them into

the toaster.

WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID WITH A DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE

1. Your small kitchen appliance is built with precision, inspected and tested before leaving

our factory.

2. It is warranted, to the original purchaser to be free from any manufacturing defects

under normal use and conditions for one (1) year, cord excluded. This Warranty applies

only to the original purchaser of this product.

3. If you need to exchange the unit, please return it in its original carton, with a sales

receipt, to the store where you purchased it. If you are past the store's allowed return policy

period, please see the enclosed Warranty.

4. If you use your appliance for household use and according to instructions, it should give

you years of satisfactory service.

5. During the one-year warranty period, a product with a defect will be either repaired or

replaced with a new or reconditioned comparable model (at our option) when the product is

returned to our Service Center. (See the “Returns” section below).

6. The repaired or replacement product will be in warranty for the remaining balance of the

one-year warranty period and an additional one-month period.

7. This limited warranty covers appliances purchased and used within the 50

contiguous states plus the District of Columbia and does NOT cover:

- Damages caused by unreasonable use, neglect, normal wear and tear, commercial use,

improper assembly or installation of product.

- Damages caused in shipping.

- Damages caused by replacement or resetting of house fuses or circuit breakers.

- Defects other than manufacturing defects.

- Breakage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, alteration, lack of proper care and

maintenance, or incorrect current or voltage.

- Lost or missing parts of the product. Parts will need to be purchased separately.

- Damages of parts that are not electrical; for example: cracked or broken plastic or glass.

- Damage from service or repair by unauthorized personnel.

- Extended warranties purchased via a separate company or reseller.

- Consumer’s remorse is not an acceptable reason to return a product to our Service

Center.

*One Year Limited Warranty valid only in the 50 contiguous states plus the District of

Columbia, excluding Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the USA; product

usage which is in violation of the written instructions provided with the unit will void this

warranty.
