POWER SUPPLY
CONNECTING YOUR MACHINE TO THE POWER SUPPLY: (230V ONLY)
To eliminate the possibility of an elect ic shock you machine has been fitted with a BS app oved, non
ewi eable moulded plug and cable which inco po ates a fuse, the value of which is indicated on the pin
face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be eplaced an app oved BS1362 fuse must be used of the
same ating, ma ked thus . The fuse cove is detachable, neve use the plug with the cove omitted. If
a eplacement fuse cove is equi ed, ensu e it is of the same colou as that visible on the pin face of the
plug (i.e. ed). Fuse cove s a e available f om you D ape Tools stockist.
If the fitted plug is not suitable, it should be cut off and dest oyed. *The end of the cable should now be
suitably p epa ed and the co ect type of plug fitted. See below.
*WARNING:
A plug with ba e flexible wi es exposed is haza dous if engaged in a live powe socket outlet.

As these colou s may not co espond with the colou ed ma kings identifying the te minals in you plug,
p oceed as follows.:
The wi e which is colou ed g een and yellow, must be connected to the te minal in the plug which is
ma ked with the lette ‘E’ o by the ea th symbol o colou ed g een o g een and yellow.
The wi e which is colou ed blue must be connected to the te minal which is ma ked with the lette 'N' o
colou ed black o blue.
The wi e which is colou ed b own must be connected to the te minal which is ma ked with the lette 'L' o
colou ed ed o b own.
N.B. Th ee phase machines must be connected by a qualified elect ician.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MACHINE TOOLS
1. KNOW YOUR MACHINE TOOL
Read and unde stand the owne 's manual and labels
affixed to the tool. Lea n its application and limitations as
well as the specific potential haza ds peculia to this tool.
2. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE

3. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES
Fo m a habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting

4. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN

5. AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT
Do not use powe tools in damp o wet locations o
expose them to ain. Keep wo k a ea well lit.

6. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY

7. MAKE WORKSHOP CHILDPROOF

8. DO NOT FORCE TOOL

was designed.
9. USE RIGHT TOOL
Do not fo ce tool o attachment to do a job fo which it
was not designed.
10. WEAR PROPER CLOTHING
Do not wea loose clothing, gloves, neckties o jewelle y
( ings, w istwatches) to catch in moving pa ts. NON SLIP
footwea is ecommended. Wea p otective hai
cove ing to contain long hai . Roll long sleeves above
the elbow.
11. USE SAFETY GOGGLES (Head Protection)
Wea safety goggles (must comply with BS 2092) at all
times. No mal spectacles only have impact esistant
lenses, they a e NOT safety glasses. Also, use face o
dust mask if cutting ope ation is dusty and ea p otecto s
(plugs o muffs) du ing extended pe iods of ope ation.
12. DO NOT OVERREACH
Keep p ope footing and balance at all times.
13. MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE
Keep tools sha p and clean fo best and safest
pe fo mance. Follow inst uctions fo lub icating and
changing accesso ies.
14. DISCONNECT POWER TO THE TOOLS
Befo e se vicing, when changing accesso ies such as
cutte s etc.
15. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING
Make su e switch is in 'OFF' position befo e plugging in
cable to the powe supply.
16. USE RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES
Consult the owne 's manual fo ecommended
accesso ies. Follow the inst uctions that accompany the
accesso ies. The use of imp ope accesso ies may cause
haza ds.
17. NEVER STAND ON TOOL
Se ious inju y could occu if the tool is tipped o if the
cutting tool is accidentally contacted. Do not sto e
mate ials above o nea the tool such that it is necessa y
to stand on the tool to each them.
18. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS
Befo e fu the use of the tool, a gua d o othe pa t that is
damaged should be ca efully checked to ensu e that it
will ope ate p ope ly and pe fo m its intended function.
Check fo alignment of moving pa ts, b eakage of pa ts,
mounting and any othe conditions that may affect its
ope ation. A gua d o othe pa t that is damaged should
be p ope ly epai ed o eplaced.
19. DIRECTION OF FEED
Feed wo k into a blade o cutte against the di ection of
otation of the blade o cutte only.
20. NEVER LEAVE MACHINE RUNNING UNATTENDED
Tu n powe off. Do not leave machine until it comes to a
complete stop.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR PRESSURE WASHERS
1. The p essu e washe must be continuously un with wate . D y unning may cause se ious damage to
the seals.
2. Do not sto e the p essu e washe in cold places and p otect the machine f om f eezing conditions.
3. Neve leave the p essu e washe switched ‘ON’ fo mo e than 1 minute with the sp ay lance in the ‘OFF’
o closed position. If the unit is left fo longe pe iods the tempe atu e of the wate in the pump unit will
ise and may damage the pump seals.
4. Do not use the p essu e washe in an enclosed a ea whe e ventilation may be est icted, neve cove the
p essu e washe whilst in use.
5. Fo you own safety do not use the p essu e washe du ing a thunde sto m and avoid di ecting the wate
jet at the p essu e washe o powe supply.
6. Neve di ect the wate jet towa ds pe sons o animals. The wate jet is ve y powe ful and could cause a
se ious inju y.
7. When moving the p essu e washe use the handle p ovided. Do not pull the p essu e washe using the
high p essu e lance hose o mains supply cable.
8. When you have finished using the p essu e washe switch the machine ‘OFF’ and disconnect f om the
powe supply. Now discha ge any emaining p essu e in the high p essu e hose by pulling the lance
t igge .

1. Secu e the lance nozzle assembly $Fig.2.
into the handle assembly %by locating the
male connecto &on the lance into the female
connecto 'in the handle and tu ning as
shown in Fig.3.
3. Now f om the loose pa ts supplied with the
p essu e washe locate the hose pipe connecto
) Fig.5. The hose pipe should be fitted to
connecto ) using a suitable female hose
coupling clip (not supplied). See Fig.6.
IMPORTANT - DO NOT LOSE THE RUBBER
SEALING WASHER WHICH IS SUPPLIED WITH
THE CONNECTOR.

7. Ensu e the safety button *is in the off

9. Check that the ON/OFF switch is in the ‘O’
(OFF) position Fig.10.
10.Connect the p essu e washe to the powe
supply.
YOUR PRESSURE WASHER IS NOW READY FOR
USE.
5. Next connect the high p essu e output hose
to the output connecto as shown in Fig.8.
