On the right hand side of the telephone there are 4 switches:

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
PARTS LIST

3 - 1.5volt AAA batteries.
ASSEMBLY
PPlug the line cord into the telephone (5 on the diagram on page1) by inserting the
plug into the socket until you hear a click.
PThe plug on the other end of the line cord is to connect to the telephone network.
PPlug the handset into the telephone (15 on the diagram on page 1) again listen for
the click.

PTo remove either of the plugs depress the plastic tab on the plug and withdraw.
To connect the headset, see page 6.
Don´t position the telephone in direct sunlight or strong heat. The rubber feet on the base
of the telephone can leave marks on a sensitive surface.
IMPORTANT! This telephone uses a magnetic switch for on and off hook
activation. Please be aware that small pins and staples may attach to the handset
in the mouthpiece area.

BATTERY
The Caller Display and memory functions need 3 x 1.5 volt AAA batteries to operate. The
normal life of the battery is approximately one year.
The battery is also used to power the time and date so when the battery low indicator
shows in the display, change the batteries immediately.
To change the batteries do the following:
PRemove the line cord before you change the battery.
PTo install the new batteries, unscrew the battery cover and remove the old batteries.
PWait one minute for the Caller Display to reset correctly, then insert the new
batteries in the battery compartment. OBSERVE CORRECT POLARITY.
NOTE! Batteries must be installed for correct operation of the display and the
handsfree speakerphone.

RING SWITCH
The ring signal is controlled by a 3 position switch on the side of the telephone,
OFF/LOW/HIGH.
In position the ringing signal is switched off. The LOW and HI positions set the ring
loudness. On the base of the telephone is a set of three switches, the top switch will
change the tone of the ring signal (see below)
The switch has 3 positions.
LINE ADAPT SWITCH
On the base of the telephone is a switch used to adapt the telephone for use either as a
normal telephone, or for use on an extension of a PBX. The switch has two positions
the NORM position is used for a connection to the telephone network and the -5db
positon when used as a PBX extension.

LOUDSPEAKER FUNCTION
When you install the phone for the first time, or use the phone after a long period of time
or if the phone has been disconnected, you may need to "load up" the phone for the
loudspeaker to work. You do this by lifting the handset for 2-3 seconds.
CONNECTING A HEADSET
Aheadset can be connected to the socket on the telephones base, near the line connector
(7 on the diagram on page 1). Operate the switch on the side of the telephone to select the
headset function, and use the loudspeaker/headset button to get dial tone or hang
up.

NOTE!
We recommended that you use a headset that is suitable for DORO X50. Headsets
are obtainable in many retail stores and at varying prices.Your local retailer can help
you choose a headset that is suitable.
Headsets can have different types of connector and wiring configuration and may
damage your headset and/or telephone. We suggest you consult your retailer for the
best advice concerning the type of headset. Faults caused by incorrect wiring or
incompatibility are not covered under Warranty.

DISPLAY
The display (4 on the diagram on page 1) has 3 lines of alphanumeric characters on which
information is displayed.
The top line shows the calling name, mobile, payphone etc. The second line shows the
time, date, number of memories, battery indicator, new calls received and VIP - call
indicator. The third line shows the Caller Display number and call duration alternately.
The new call received indication (LED) is off until a new call has been received.
(additional information about the indicator is on page 15).

SET DATE AND TIME
To set the correct DATE and TIME on the display do the following:
PPress the programming button, for 2 seconds, then release the button.
The hours in the Time display will flash.
PPress the UP or the DOWN arrow to set the correct hour. Press
button to store.
PThe minutes on the display will now flash. Press the UP or DOWN arrow
to set the correct minute. Press button to store.
PThe days on the display now flash. Press the UP or DOWN arrow
to set the correct day. Press button to store.
PThe month on the display now flashes. Press the UP or DOWN
arrow to set the correct month. Press button to store.
PThe Installation is complete and the telephone is ready to use and is on standby.
CALL TIMER
Outgoing Calls
The Telephone has a call timer function that will show the length of a call on the display.
The timer will start a few seconds after you have dialed the number.
In the example, the timer shows the call has been going for 17 minutes and 24 seconds
Incoming calls
On an incoming call, the timer will show the elapsed time after the call has finished.
