WELCOME
Project 71 celebrates DITA’s roots and the founding of its parent
company, Packagers Pte Ltd.
Established in 1971, Packagers Pte Ltd has spent the last 50 years in
the design, engineering and manufacturing of automated high-speed
packaging lines.
Five decades of engineering experience continues to be meticulously
translated into every DITA product.
DITA aims to challenge existing notions of analog design and user
interaction by combining memories of its roots, with cutting-edge
manufacturing, and a dash of creativity. The result is Project 71, a pair
of earphones that celebrates the best of old-world luxury with modern
engineering.
We’d like to thank you for your continued support and we hope to have
a long and meaningful relationship with you.
Please ensure that you have read the safety instructions before using
the earphones.

YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDESIMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Always practice safe listening habits.
2. Ensure that the output volume of your device is set to a minimum
before inserting earphones into your ears.
3. Listening at high volumes for extended periods of time can
permanently damage your hearing.
4. Never insert the earphones into your ears without the supplied
tips.
5. Take extreme care when inserting and removing your earphones.
6. Always keep your earphones dry. These earphones are not designed
for wet use.
7. Do not wear your earphones in any environment where you need
to have an auditory sense of your surroundings (e.g. on the streets,
or while driving).
8. Do not plug your earphones into anything other than the output
jack of your media player.
9. Do not insert any sharp objects into the nozzle of your earphones.
You may permanently damage the highly sensitive diaphragm of
the driver.

Determine the Left channel by
locating the MMCX type plug with
the Braille knob. The one with the
Braille knob is the Left Channel
and goes into your left ear. No
marking is made on the earphone
chassis as they are identical.
Once you have determined the
Left and Right Channels, hold the
earphones in the corresponding
hand so that the cables are
hanging downwards. The wooden
disc on the cable splitter should
be facing away from your chest
when the earphones are worn in
the correct orientation.
THE AWESOME PLUG
• By design, the 3.5mm TRS plug is not meant for professional use.
As such, do not subject the plug to undue physical loading.
• Always remove the plug from an appropriate receptacle by grasping
the connector body. Do not tug on the cables.
• Careful usage of the cables can prolong the lifespan of your product.
The cables on the Sakura 71 are equipped with DITA’s proprietary
Awesome Plug technology—developed to future-proof your cables,
making them compatible for use with many different types of
playback devices.
HOW TO WEAR YOUR EARPHONES
The cables attached to these earphones were tested extensively to
provide for a comfortable fit and minimize tangling.

TO CHANGE A CONNECTOR TYPE
1. Grasp the body of the plug firmly with one hand and pinch the
knurled ring with the other.
2. With the plug facing you, firmly twist the knurled ring counter-
clockwise to unscrew it.
3. The knurled ring should fall into position once it has been
completely unscrewed.
4. Pull out the plug.
TO INSERT A DIFFERENT TYPE OF PLUG
1. Gently position the plug to the body while aligning the slot on the
plug with the locating notch.
2. Apply gentle pressure on the top of the plug to ensure the slot,
notch and four-pole connectors firmly attached.
3. To position the threads correctly, move the knurled ring into
position. While gently pushing the knurled ring against the screw
threads, turn the ring counter-clockwise until you feel a slight snap.
4. Holding it in the above position, turn the knurled ring clockwise to
tighten it.
5. Do not use tools such as pliers to loosen or to tighten the knurled
ring. It is designed for finger pressure only.

The Twist Lock is a DITA innovation that is designed to minimize
excessive rotation of MMCX type connectors. Twist Lock prevents
cable tangling, twisting and premature friction wear on MMCX type
connectors.
The OSLO cable that is supplied with your DITA earphones are not
compatible with other models of earphones on the market.

MMCX PLUG
1. Grasp the MMCX connector body close to the connector tip, without
touching the connector tip.
2. Ensure the triangular protrusion on the connector body (‘male’
end) is aligned with the corresponding triangular cut-out on the
earphone chassis (‘female’ end).
3. The Left channel is determined by the protruding Braille knob
on the MMCX style connector body.
4. Once the connector and the jack on the earphone are correctly
aligned, push in firmly until you hear or feel a light click.
5. Do not remove and insert the cable repeatedly. This connector is
not designed for repeated insertion and removal. Damage resulting
from repeated insertion and removal is not covered by your warranty.
Always remove the plug from an appropriate receptacle by grasping the connector body.
DO NOT tug on the cables.

1. Fit the size you usually use and listen for a while.
2. Fit a size larger than you usually use; listen while changing the
depth at which they are inserted and the angle of the earphones.
3. Fit a size smaller than you usually use; listen while changing the
depth at which they are inserted and the angle of the earphones.
4. After using the size that you preferred from those you tried for a
while, try a different size.
5. Repeat the above and choose the pair that leaves you feeling the
least tried when using them.
Using the appropriate ear tips is crucial to sound quality. You must be
able to obtain a comfortable and good seal in order to maximize the
full potential of your earphones. If in doubt, always choose the ear tips
with the most comfortable fit.
For this product, we have collaborated with Final from Japan to supply
the ear tips. Extensive testing has proven that these tips are the most
appropriate for these earphones.

TYPE E EARTIPS
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR EARTIPS

1716
• Do not wind the cable tightly.
• Do not subject the cable to sharp bends for extended periods.
• Do not subject your cables or earphones to harsh chemicals,
solvents or acids.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
• Each material used in the construction of this product has been
selected for its natural properties and sonic qualities. In an effort
to preserve the best of these natural properties, the use of chemical
additives has been minimized during the manufacturing process.
As such, the lustre of the brass rings will diminish with time and
repeated use. We encourage you to appreciate the natural beauty
of the brass patina, that is unique to each piece.
• It is also strongly recommended that the wood rings be lightly
lubricated with petroleum jelly or a similar type of non-invasive
moisturizing substance to prevent pre-mature wear and tear.
• In some cases and environments, a build-up of green copper
carbonate will appear on the surface of your earphones. This is
not a defect and can be easily removed by gently polishing with
a polishing cloth.
• Care of this product is likened to that of precious, heirloom-grade,
wood and brass objects. Please correspond this information with
those listed in other parts of this manual. Please exercise caution
when you use and maintain this product.
• Oxidation on the surface of high purity copper cables is a naturally
occurring phenomena and is not an indication of defect. This
product will continue to perform with equal sonic qualities even
when some oxidation (green or black spots) appears on the cables.
CAUTIONARY NOTE

1918
• Store your earphones in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and
intense heat.
• Do not crush your earphones under any load (e.g. heavy items
resting on the plug while they are in your bag).
STORAGE
• Carefully remove any build-up or dirt from the mesh being extra
careful not to puncture or remove the mesh.
• Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the earphones. Do not use
any solvents or cleaning agents.
• Ensure that your earphones are clean and free from humidity
before storage.
CLEANING
• In most cases, your earphones are warranted from manufacturer’s
defect from 6 months to 1 year. This varies from country to country.
Earphones are not warranted against wear and tear and/or misuse
of any kind.
• The warranty is void if the casing of the earphones has been opened
or displays signs of tampering.
• Replacement or repair is made solely at our discretion.
• Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
• If you experience a problem with your earphones, please contact
your country representative. Should you wish to contact us directly,
