1.1 Scope

This manual describes the working principle, basic structure, operating parameters, operation,



1.2 Package Content

During the transportation process, some unpredictable circumstances may cause product

damage. It is recommended that to check the basic product appearance and checklist. If

found any missing parts or damage, please contact Delta Electronics India.

1.3 Safety Notice

1.3.1 Legal and Safety Information

Before operating product, please read all safety regulations and legal information in this

section carefully. Ignoring these instructions can result in equipment damage, health hazards,

or loss of life.

The installation must be made by trained personnel and familiar with the provisions of the

local installation. Installation must comply with local legal requirements (including installation

in buildings and main AC switchboards). And follow the installation, operation and

maintenance system in the manual. In addition to safety instructions and work safety, please

refer to the laws of various countries.

1.3.2 Limitation

This device is mainly used for backup power. Improper use of this equipment may result in

equipment damage that could result in personal injury or serious physical or environmental

damage.

Incorrect installation, maintenance, operation, or use exceeds its intended purpose, does not

follow status instructions, and/or does not comply with applicable safety regulations. Delta is

not responsible for any hazard or damage.

Delta is solely responsible for the components and services provided by Delta.

Third-party components and/or services, such as distribution boxes or GPS repair or

maintenance or use or improper use of the equipment, Delta is not responsible. In addition,

Delta shall not be liable for any malfunction, danger, or damage to the equipment of any third

party component or service.

Unauthorized modifications may result in equipment failure or damage. Delta assumes no

responsibility or liability.

Installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment can only be done by qualified

professionals (and with proper training). Operators are responsible for ensuring equipment

operators and professional training.

If the power system does not have a disconnect switch or equivalent device installed, the

operator must be responsible for assembling a disconnect switch that complies with the

relevant regulations.

1.3.3 Third Party Devices

Delta shall not be responsible for or bear any legal responsibility for any danger or damage

caused by equipments provided by Third Party.

1.4 Special Instruction

Warnings, Caution and Note are important information for identification. They are categorized

1.4.1 Operation Notice

1.4.2 Safety Notice

Please read and follow the instructions below to install and use the battery. Improper

installation and use of the battery may result in personal injury or damage to the product.

1. Do not immerse the battery in water. When not in use, it should be placed in a cool, dry

environment.

2. It is forbidden to put the battery into the fire or heat it from the outside to avoid explosion

or other dangers.

3. Please use lithium-ion battery compatible charger when charging, and follow the correct

instructions.

4. Do not use the battery to reverse the positive and negative electrodes. Do not connect the

battery directly to the power socket. Do not short-circuit the positive and negative

terminals of the battery.

5. Do not mix different manufacturers or different types and types of batteries and old and

new batteries.

6. Do not charge, discharge, bulge, deform, or leak battery into the device.

7. Do not pierce the battery with nails or other sharp objects. Do not throw, step on, strike, or

hit the battery.

8. It is forbidden to disassemble batteries and components. Delta will not be responsible for

any damage caused by unauthorized disassembly or maintenance

1.4.3 General Notice

1. The battery has been strictly inspected before leaving the factory. If the customer finds

that the purchased battery has over-heat, bulging or odor, please do not use it and return

it to the factory immediately.

2. When storage for a long period of time, in order to ensure the best performance of the

battery, the battery need to charged and discharged once every three months, and it is

guaranteed to carry 50% to 60% of capacity for storage.

3. Please use the battery within the temperature range specified in the specification.

2 Product Specification

2.1 Overview

The SEG-48100-02I lithium-ion battery is an external battery system that provides backup

power for 48V devices. When the Input AC power supply is normal, the rectifier power module

supplies power to the device and charges the battery pack. When the mains power is off, the

rectifier power module stops supplying power. At this time, the battery module provides

uninterrupted power supply to the device and protects the device.

Normal operation; when the utility power is turned on again, the rectifier power module

restores power to the communication device while charging battery.

It is recommended to store the Battery in the ventilated, damp-proof, anti-corrosion and



better Battery Life.

3 Installation

3.1 Preparation

1. Make sure that the power system connected to the battery is a qualified communication

power system.

2. When installing the battery, please make sure that the power supply system is in the off

state without current, and that the battery module is turned off.

3. There must be a corresponding level of insulation measures for the power cables. It is

forbidden to have exposed power cables.

4. Ensure that the battery and power system are grounded reliably during installation

3.2 Environment Requirement

The installation environment must meet the product operating temperature, storage

temperature, relative humidity, and atmospheric pressure requirements. The installation site

must be free from conductive dust and corrosive gases, explosion hazards, vibration bumps,

and away from heat and fire sources

3.3 Tool Required For Installation

Before removing the battery module from the box, inspect the cartons/box for any damage.

Then check the integrity of the parts to see if any damage. If this happens, contact the

shipping staff immediately.

3.4 Power Source Confirmation

–Check that the device properties directly connected to the battery are user equipment,

switching power supplies, or other power devices.

–Check the position of the DC interface in the device and the output voltage to see if it

meets the voltage requirements.

–Check that the maximum output current of the DC device interface matches the selected

battery.

–Check the maximum operating current of the battery-operated device and ensure that the

current is less than the maximum discharge current of the product being used.

–Check and confirm the working ground position of the power system in the equipment

room.

3.5 Installation Instruction

Installation should pay attention to the following matters:

–Mounting space and support weight. Make sure the battery has enough space for

installation, and make sure that the battery mounting bracket or cabinet can withstand the

battery's gravity.

–Make sure that the power cable meets the maximum current requirement for the device to

operate.

–Ensure that the power equipment, batteries and other assembly locations are reasonable

during the entire construction process.

–Ensure that the wiring is reasonable and orderly; consider moisture protection and

corrosion protection.

–The Installation site should be operated by at least two people

3.6 Installation Procedure

System Power-off

Before installing the battery, make sure that the battery is turned off and disconnect the

power supply of the device that needs to be connected to the battery to ensure that the

installation process is not powered
