Safety
• This kettle can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of thekettle in asafe way and if they understand thehazards
involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep theappliance and its cord out of reach of children aged
under 8 years.
• Thekettle can be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of thekettle in asafe way and understand
thehazards involved. Neverlet children play with thekettle.
• Check that your power supply is 220–240 V and that
thekettle is connected to anearthed socket.
• Always unplug thekettle from thepower point when it is not
inuse.
• Always unplug thelead from thepower point and let thekettle
cool down properly before cleaning it.
• Do not pull or carry thekettle by themains lead. Donot use
thelead as ahandle or let it get pinched in door jambs.
Donot pull thelead around sharp corners or edges.
• Make sure that thelead does not come in contact with
hot surfaces such as cooker hobs.

• Never immerse thelead, plug, bottom plate or kettle in water
or other liquid. Doingso may increase therisk for electric shock.
• Children who are close by when thekettle is used must be
supervised at all times.
• Certain parts of thekettle become hot during use, only touch
thehandle.
• Never use thekettle if it is damaged or does not work normally.
• Themains lead should be checked regularly. Neveruse thekettle
if themains lead or plug is damaged.
• Themains lead must be changed if damaged. Thisis to
prevent therisk of electric shock or fire and should only be
carried out by themanufacturer, authorised service facility or
aqualified tradesman.
• Thekettle is designed for indoor use only.
• Thekettle should only be used as described in this instruction
manual.
• Thekettle may only be used with thesupplied bottom plate.
• When filling with water, do not exceed themaximum mark.
Ifmore water is filled, hot water may be expelled when heating.
• Note: Makesure that thekettle is on astable, flat surface
before it is turned on.
• Note: Makesure that themains lead, plug and theelectrical
connectors on thebottom plate and thekettle are clean,
intact and dry before thekettle is turned on.
• Note: Neverfill thekettle with water when it is positioned
on thebottom plate. Liftthejug and fill carefully with water.
Makesure that thebottom plate and thekettle’s housing are
both completely dry before thekettle is placed on thebottom
plate and is turned on.
• Never fill with water when thekettle is switched on.
• Never use thekettle near anopen fire or hot surfaces.
• Clean thekettle with alightly moistened cloth. Neveruse
solvents or corrosive cleaning products. Useamild cleaning
agent.

• Never heat liquids other than water in thekettle.
• Never touch thekettle while it is switched on. Hotsteam can
cause burn injuries.
• Never leave thekettle unattended and always unplug
themains lead from thewall socket when it is not in use.
• Never use thekettle if you have dropped it or if it has been
damaged in any way.
• Thekettle is only intended for normal household use or in staff
kitchens, hostels, motels, etc.
• Warning: Watermust never come into contact with
thebottom plate.
• Warning: Thereis arisk of personal injury if theinstructions in
this instruction manual are not followed.
• Neither thekettle nor thebottom plate must be immersed in
water when cleaning.
• Note that thebottom plate and certain parts of thekettle are
still hot even after thekettle has been turned off.

Before initial use
• Boil clean cold water in thekettle two times and rinse itout.
• Coil any excess length of mains lead around thebase of thekettle to keep it as
short as possible and keep it out of reach of children andpets.

Operating instructions
1. Place thebase on astable and level surface.
2. Switch thekettle off by setting theon/off switch to0.
3. Lift thelid. Fillthekettle with cold water only. Donot overfill.
Thewater level should be between themin and maxmarks.
4. Lower thelid until it locks shut.
5. Place thekettle on itsbase.
6. Connect themains lead to a220–240 V earthed wall socket.
7. Set theon/off switch to 1. Theindicator light will comeon.
8. When thewater boils thekettle will switch off automatically and thelight will goout.
9. Unplug thekettle or switch off thewall socket.
10. Do not open thelid when pouring out thewater.
The kettle can also be switched off manually by moving theon/off switch down to0.
Care and maintenance
• Always unplug thekettle from thewall socket before cleaning.
• Never immerse thekettle inwater.
• Clean theexterior of thekettle by wiping it with asoft damp cloth and alittle
washing-up liquid.
• Avoid using solvents and abrasive cleaning agents. Drycarefully after cleaning.
Descaling
Due to thenatural occurrence of calcium in water, limescale deposits may form in
thekettle after some use. Limescale deposits might lengthen thetime needed for
water toboil.
For descaling, use amixture of water and white vinegar (acetic acid) or aspecial
descaling agent that can be purchased at most supermarkets.
1. Mix100 ml of white vinegar (12%, not regular vinegar) with 300 ml cold water or
follow thedirections included with thedescaling agent.
2. Pourthemixture into thekettle and turn it on. Boilthemixture 2 times and then
discard it.
3. Inorder to remove thelast remnants of limescale and descaling agent, thekettle
should be filled to themax mark with fresh cold water. Turnthekettle on and let it
come to theboil.
4. Pourout thewater and repeat this process 3 times. Thekettle is now ready to
useagain.
The kettle should be descaled after 2–3 months daily use or whenever it has visible
limescale deposits.

skulle kunna äventyra säkerheten, om de har fått instruktioner
om hur vattenkokaren på ettsäkert sätt ska användas och
förstår faror och risker som kan uppkomma. Låtaldrig barn
leka med vattenkokaren.
• Se till att spänningen ivägguttaget är 220–240 V och att du
ansluter vattenkokaren till ettjordat uttag.
• Dra alltid stickproppen ur vägguttaget när vattenkokaren
inteanvänds.
• Dra alltid stickproppen ur vägguttaget och låt vattenkokaren
svalna före rengöring.
• Dra eller bär inte vattenkokaren inätsladden. Använd inte
nätsladden som etthandtag och kläm den inte inågon dörr.
Draden inte heller runt vassa hörn och kanter.
• Se till att nätsladden inte kommer ikontakt med varma ytor,
t.ex. envarm spisplatta.

• Obs! Fyllaldrig på vatten ivattenkokaren när den står på
bottenplattan. Lyftav kannan och fyll försiktigt på vatten.
Försäkra dig om att bottenplattan och vattenkokarens
hölje båda är helt torra innan vattenkokaren placeras på
bottenplattan och slås på.
