Afterrestartingyourcomputer,theOPCserverwillbeoperational.
Connectthedongletoactivatethelicence.

ConfigureeachCIATControlwithafixedIPaddress.
Todothis,identifyyourselfasa"User",clickon"Parameters"andselectthe"Ethernetconfiguration"tab.

ConnectanRJ45cabletooneofthe2EthernetportsontheCIATControl.
Note:eachCIATControlhasadefaultDHCPsetting.
OnceanaddresshasbeenassignedtotheCIATControl,theactiveboardisdisplayed.
Select"Static"andentertheinformationsuppliedbythenetworkadministrator(orthatassignedbytheDHCPserver):
‐IPaddress
‐Subnetmask
‐Gateway
Clickon"Send"toconfirmtheconfiguration.
Note:ifseveralCIATControlsarepresentonthenetwork,pleasemodifythecomputername(defaultname:
CIATCONTROL)toauniquenametoavoidconflicts.TheCIATControlwillneedtoberestartedafterthenamehasbeen
modified.
CarryoutthesameoperationoneachCIATControl,takingcaretoassigndifferentfixedIPaddressesforeach
CIATControl.

Clickon"PING"tocheckthecommunicationwiththeequipment.
Itsstatusswitchesto"Success".
RepeattheoperationforeachCIATControl.
WhenalltheCIATControlshavebeenconfigured,closetheapplicationbyclickingonthecrossinthetopright.

The"SETTINGS"menuisusedtomodifythefollowingparameters:
‐Booleanvalueistrue:appliestoallOPCitemscreatedwiththebooltype;iftheboxischecked,thevalue
codedfortrueis1;iftheboxisnotchecked,itis‐1.
‐Reconnectevery:frequencyofreconnectiontoastationdeclaredabsentonthenetwork.Whenastationis
declaredabsentafteralossofcommunication,theOPCserverusesthisfrequencytocheckthatthestation
hasreturnedtothenetwork
‐Refreshtime:waitingtimeactivatedwitheacheventpriortostationupdate.Thisisused,forexample,when
addingitemstothestationformonitoring:itisusedtosendthelistofitemstobemonitoredonceallthe
itemshavebeendeclared,ratherthanupdatingthestationeachtimeanitemisadded/deleted.Inparticular,
thissavestimewheninitialisingtheOPCserver
‐Disconnectiontime:waitingtimepriortodisconnectionofthelinkbetweentheOPCserverandthestationfor
whichnoitemsarereadbytheOPCserver
‐Dataservertestfrequency:cyclicaltesttocheckforthepresenceofthestation(useofthepingcommand)
‐TCPtimeout:configurationofthetimeoutperiodontheTCPcontrolwhencheckingforthepresenceofthe
stationonthenetwork
‐Nativetypeisstring:appliestoOPCitemsforwhichthetypeisdefinedasstringiftheboxischecked.
Otherwisethetypeisundefined
‐Addressseparator:characterusedtoseparatethedifferentfieldsoftheOPCaddress(devicefield,network
field,variablefield,etc.)
4. USE
TheOPCserverlaunchesautomaticallywhenanOPCclientattemptstocommunicatewiththeCIAT.CIATControlOPC
Server.DAserver.
AnyOPCclientcannowselecttheitemshewishestomonitor(seesections7to10fortheitemsavailableforeachtype
ofequipment).
TheOPCserverhasthefollowingbuttons:
‐Stations…:usedtocheckthestationsinterrogatedbytheOPCclient;itispossibletorefreshtheconnections
orattempttoreconnectifthereisalossofcommunicationwithoneofthestations.

‐Exit:usedtoclosetheOPCserver.Ifequipmentisaddedtotheserver,itisrecommendedtoshutdownthe
serverbeforeconfiguring,otherwiseanymodificationswillonlybetakenintoaccountoncetheOPCserveris
restarted.
‐Group:usedtoindicatetheitemsreadbytheOPCclient.Thefulladdressisindicated,aswellastherefresh
timeandvalue.
‐Badaddresses:usedtoindicateincorrectaddressesread/writtenbytheOPCclient.Iftheseaddressesdonot
exist,theywillbedirectlyplacedinthismenu.
‐Groupdetails:givesageneraloverviewoftheOPCserveraswellasthevalueoftheparameterssetintheOPC
serverconfigurator.
‐Filter:usedtoapplyafiltertotheitemslistedinthetable.Simplyenterthecharacterspresentintheaddress
ofeachitem.Thefilterrefreshesautomatically.

ImportantnotesfortheinstallationprocedureviaOPC:
‐Thevalueswrittenintheequipmentparametersarenotstoredinthedatabase.Whenreplacingthe
modules(inoperativemodule),theparametervaluesshouldbechangedagain.Onlythevaluessetviathe
CIATControlscreenarestoredinthedatabase.
‐TakecarewhenwritingtheparametervaluesforV3000typemodules.Whenaparameterismodified,the
V3000restartsautomatically.Itthenlosesthecontextinwhichitwasswitchedto"Auto"mode.Itwillnot
switchbacktothemoderequestedbythetimeschedulewhenthemodenextswitches.Topreventthis,the
OPCclientmustsendthecommandtotheV3000inordertomakeitswitchbacktothemodeitwasin
beforetherestart.
‐TheitemsavailableforeachpieceofequipmentaredisplayedinFrenchonly.
5. UNINSTALLING
Touninstallthesoftware,theOPCservermustbeshutdown,whichrequiresalltheOPCclientstobeclosed.
Doubleclickonthe"CIAT"iconinthebottomrightofthetaskbar.
Thefollowingwindowopens.Clickon"Exit"andconfirmthattheapplicationhasclosed.

In"Configurationpanel",clickon"ProgramandFunctions"(Win7)or"Add/Removeprograms"(WinXP/Win
Server2003/2007).
Select"CIATControlOPCServer"andclickonuninstall.Thefollowingwindowopens.Followtheinstructions.
