1.0 Care of the Device

conditionsmayshortenthelifeoftheunits.
• Donotamperwithanyoftheinternalcomponentsoftheseunits.Thiswillinvalidatethe
warrantyandmaycausedamage.
• Damagecausedbyfailuretocomplywiththisinstructionmanualwillinvalidateanywarranty.

1.1 Correct Usage of Batteries
• Donotmixstandardandrechargeablebatteries.
• Donotmixnewandoldbatteries.
• Whenthelowbatterysymbol appearsonthedisplayreplaceallbatterieswithnewones.
• Donotleavedischargedbatteriesinthedeviceasthesemaycorrodeandreleasechemicals
thatmaydamagetheunit.
2.0 Setup Procedure
1. Removethebatterycoverfromtheremotesensors.
2. Removethebatterycoverfromthemonitorandinsert2xAAAbatteriesaccordingtothe
correct polarity.
3. Move the CHslideswitchonthebackoftheremotesensortothecorrectchannel(1,2or3).
Nextinsert2xAAbatteriesintothesensor.
4. ThetransmissionindicationLEDwillashontheremotesensorindicatingthatthesignalhas
beensenttothemonitor.Oncethesignalisreceived,thedashes(--.-°C)onthemonitorfor
channel1,2or3willchangetothecurrentoutdoortemperature.
5. Oncethemonitorreceivesthesignalfromtherstsensor,followsteps3and4aboveto
connect the other 2 remote sensors with the monitor.
6. Ifafter3minutesthescreendoesnotchangetoshowtheoutdoortemperature,presstheCH
buttononthemonitortoselectthechannelyouwouldliketoreset,CH1,CH2orCH3willash.
7. Press and hold the CHbuttontoselectit.Themonitorwillnowattempttosearchforthesignal
foranother3minutes.PresstheTXbuttononthebackoftheremotesensortoforcethe
sensortosendoutanothertransmissionsignaltothemonitor.
8. Positionthemonitorandremotesensorswithineffectivetransmissionrange,whichinusual
circumstancesis50metres(164feet).Therangeisaffectedbythebuildingmaterialsandwhere
themonitorandremotesensorarepositioned;tryvariouslocationsforthebestresults.
NOTE:Theremotesensorscanbeplacedoutdoorsorinsideyourhomeindifferentrooms.The
remotesensorshouldbeplacedinashadedareaforaccuratereadings.
2.1 Troubleshooting
Iftheoutdoortemperaturecannotbereceived,check:
1. Thedistancebetweenthemonitororremotesensorshouldbeatleast1.2metres(4feet)away
fromanyinterferingsourcessuchascomputermonitorsorTVsets.
2. Avoidplacingthemonitorontoorintheimmediateproximityofmetalwindowframes.

3. Usingotherelectricalproductssuchasheadphonesorspeakersoperatingonthesame
frequency(433MHz)maypreventcorrectsignaltransmissionandreception.
4. Neighboursusingelectricaldevicesoperatingonthe433MHzsignalfrequencycanalso
causeinterference.
5. Signalsfromotherhouseholddevices,suchasdoorbellsandhomesecuritysystems,
maytemporarilyinterferewiththeunitsandcausereceptionfailure.Thetransmissionand
receptionoftemperaturereadingwillresumeoncetheinterferencehasstopped.
Themaximumtransmissionrangeis50metres(164feet)fromtheremotesensortothemonitor
(inopenspace).However,thisdependsonthesurroundingenvironmentandinterferencelevels.
Thetemperaturesignaltravelsinastraightlinefromtheremotesensortothemonitor.Thesignal
willnotcurvearoundanobject.Ifnoreceptionispossibledespitetheobservationofthese
factors,allunitswillhavetobereset.
3.0 Mounting
CAUTION:Greatcaremustbetakenwhenmountingthecomponents.Themanufacturer/
suppliercannotbeheldliableforpersonalorpropertydamagewhensettingupthe
components.Pleaseusecautionwhenchoosingamountingpoint.
Priortodrillingmountingholesandpermanentlyafxinganyoftheunits,pleaseensurethe
followingpointsareconsidered:
1.Signalfromtheremotesensorcanbereceivedbythemonitoratmountingpoint.
2.Makesuretheremotesensoriseasilyaccessible.Youwillhavetoperiodicallyreplacebatteries.
3.1 Monitor
Themonitorcanbeplacedonanyatsurface.
3.2 Optimum Viewing Angle
YoumustalwayskeepinmindthattheLCDscreenisconstructedwithan“optimumviewing
angle”.Youreyeshouldbeata45°angletoviewtheLCDscreenclearly.

3.3 Installing the Remote Sensor
Topreventtemperatureinterference,placetheremotesensorawayfromdirectsunlight,air
conditioning,andheatervents.Theremotesensorisdesignedtobesplashproof;neverimmerse
intowaterorexposetoheavyrain.
NOTE:Thetemperaturesignaltravelsinastraightlinefromtheremotesensortothemonitor.
Thesignalwillnotcurvearoundanobject.Pleasetakethisintoconsiderationwhenmountingthe
remote sensor.

Theremotesensorcanbeplacedonanyatsurfaceormountedonawall.

4.0 Calendar and Clock Setup
1. Press the SETbutton.Theyeardigitwillbegintoash.
2. Press the UP or DOWNbuttontotoggletothecorrectyear.
3. Press the SETbuttontoconrm.
4. Themonthdigitwillbegintoash.Followsteps2and3tosetthecorrectmonth,date,hour,
minutesand12/24hourformat.
5.0 Setting Alarm Time
1. Press the ALARMbuttononcetoenteralarmmode.ALwillbedisplayedbetweenthehour
andminutedigits.
2. Press the ALARMbuttonagaintoactivateordeactivatethealarm.Whenthealarmis
activated willbedisplayedbetweenthehourandminutedigits.
3. Press and hold the ALARMbutton.Thehourdigitwillbegintoash.
4. Press the UP or DOWN buttontosetthehour.
5. Press the ALARMbuttontoconrm.Theminutedigitswillbegintoash.
6. Press the UP or DOWNbuttontosettheminutes.
7. Press the ALARMbuttontoconrm.Theclockwillautomaticallyreturntoregularmode.
8. WhenthealarmsoundspresstheSZN/LIGHTbutton,thealarmwillsoundagainin
approximately5minutes.Toturnoffthealarmrmlypressanyotherbutton,when
alarm sounds.
6.0 Maximum and Minimum Memory
1. Press the UP/MEM buttononcetodisplaythemaximumreadings.Pressthe
UP/MEMbuttonagaintodisplaytheminimumreadings.
2. To clear the memory, press and hold the UP/MEMbuttonwhenthemaxorminreadingsare
displayed.Thiswillresetthememorytothecurrenttemperatureandhumidityreadingsbeing
displayed on the monitor.
NOTE:Allthemaximumandminimumreadingswillberesetautomaticallyat12:00am(0:00)everyday.

Thedefaultmeasurementfortemperatureis°C,presstheDOWN/CFbuttontotogglebetween
°Cand°F.
8.0 Backlight
Press the SNZ/LIGHTbuttontoturnthebluebacklightonforafewseconds.
