Turning the Repeater on
1. Place your RP-AC55 near your Router/AP and plug it to a
power outlet. Press the power switch to ON.
2. Wait until the power LED changes from red to solid blue,
indicating that RP-AC55 is ready to connect to the existing
network.
Setting up the Repeater
Connecting to a network
Select one of the following ways to connect the Repeater to a
network.
Method One: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
1. Press the WPS button on the router/AP.
2. Press the WPS button of RP-AC55 for more than ve (5) sec-
onds until the Power LED starts to blink.
NOTE: Refer to the section A quick look for the location of the
WPS button.
3. Check if RP-AC55’s Wi-Fi indicator turns solid light, which
indicates that the Repeater has connected to the wireless
network successfully. The Repeater’s wireless network name
(SSID) changes to your existing Wi-Fi network name, ending
with _RPT or _RPT5G. For example:
Existing Wi-Fi network name: existing NetworkName
New Extender 2.4GHz network name: existing NetworkName_
RPT
New Extender 5GHz network name: existing NetworkName_
RPT5G
To connect an additional Wi-Fi device to your extended net-
work, use the same network password as that of your existing
wireless router.
Method Two: Connecting through GUI
1. Use a Wi-Fi enabled device, such as your desktop PC/note-
book/tablet, to nd and connect to ASUS_RPAC55/ASUS_
RPAC55_5G wireless network.
2. Launch a web browser and enter http://repeater.asus.com in
the address bar to access the Repeater.

3. Follow the Quick Extender Setup steps to set up the Repeat-
er:
• ConnecttoaWi-Finetworkandwhenprompted,enterthe
security key. If your Wi-Fi network is hidden, click Manual
setting.
• TickSame with Parent AP SSID/Password to copy the rout-
er/AP’s SSID and password for your extended network. You
could also set a unique SSID and password for your extended
network by typing in the text box. When done, click Apply.
NOTE: The Repeater’s default SSID and password is the same
as that of your router/AP, with the SSID ending with _RPT or
_RPT5G. You can change these default settings to a unique SSID
and password.
• Connectyourwirelessdevicestothenewextendednetwork.
Moving the Repeater
• Whentheconnectioniscomplete,placeyourRP-AC55
between the router/AP and the wireless device to get the best
performance.
• AfterplacingyourRP-AC55inanideallocation,RP-AC55
connects to your router/AP in about one (1) minute.

Q1: What should I do if my router does not support WPS?
•YoucanuseMethodTwotosetupRP-AC55.
Q2: Why is it that the LED indicator for the current network does not light up after the Wi-Fi setup is
complete?
•Youmayhaveenteredthewrongpasswordfortherouter/AP.PleaserestartyourRP-AC55,enterthecorrectpassword,andtryto
set up your RP-AC55 again.
Q3: Why is it that I cannot see the login page after entering http://repeater.asus.com in the browser?
•EnsurethatyourcomputerisconnectedtoyourRP-AC55networkonly,andsetyourcomputertoObtain an IP address au-
tomatically. If you still cannot nd the login page, please download the ASUS Device Discovery utility. You can download the
utility for Windows and Mac from https://www.asus.com/Networking/RP-AC55/HelpDesk_Download/.
Q4: How do I reset RP-AC55?
•PresstheRESETbuttononthesideofRP-AC55forabouttwo(2)seconds.Waitforaboutve(5)secondsuntiltheexistingnet-
work LED blinks slowly.
Q5: I cannot access the web GUI to congure the RP-AC55 settings.
• Closeallrunningwebbrowsersandlaunchagain.
• Followthestepsbelowtocongureyourcomputersettingsbasedonits
operating system.
Windows 7
A. Disable the proxy server, if enabled.
1. Click Start > Internet Explorer to launch the web browser.
2. Click Tools > Internet options > Connections tab > LAN settings.
3. From the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings screen, untick Use a proxy server for your LAN.
4. Click OK when done.

B. Set the TCP/IP settings to automatically obtain an IP address.
1. Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage
network connections.
2. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.
3. Tick Obtain an IP address automatically.
4. Click OK when done.
Mac OS
A. Disable the proxy server, if enabled.
1. From the menu bar, click Safari > Preferences... > Advanced tab.
2. Click Change Settings... in the Proxies eld.
3. From the list of protocols, deselect FTP Proxy and Web Proxy (HTTP).
4. Click OK when done.

B. Set the TCP/IP settings to automatically obtain an IP address.
1. Click the Apple icon > System Preferences > Network.
2. Select Ethernet and select Using DHCP in the Congure eld.
3. Click Apply when done.

開啟無線網路延伸器
1. 將您的 RP-AC55 放置在靠近路由器 / 無線存取點的位置並
插上電源。按下電源開關開啟無線網路延伸器。
2. 等待直至電源指示燈從紅色變為藍色常亮，說明 RP-AC55
已準備就緒，可連線至目前網路。
設定無線網路延伸器
連線到網路
使用以下任一方式將無線網路延伸器連線到網路：
方法一：使用 WPS（Wi-Fi Protected Setup）
1. 按下路由器 / 無線存取點上的 WPS 按鈕。
2. 按住 RP-AC55 上的 WPS 按鈕超過 5 秒鐘，直到電源指示
燈開始閃爍。
注意： 無線路由器參考 認識您的 RP-AC55 無線網路延伸器
部份的說明找到 WPS 按鈕的具體位置。
3. 查看 RP-AC55 的目前網路指示燈是否變為常亮，若是，則
代表無線網路延伸器已成功連線到無線網路。無線網路延
伸器的無線網路名稱（SSID）變更為目前的 Wi-Fi 網路名
稱，以 _RPT 或 _RPT5G 結尾。例如：
目前 Wi-Fi 網路名稱：目前的網路名稱
新的 2.4GHz 延伸網路名稱：目前的網路名稱_RPT
新的 5GHz 延伸網路名稱： 目前的網路名稱_RPT5G
要使其他 Wi-Fi 裝置連接到延伸的網路，可使用目前無線
路由器的網路密碼。
方法二：透過圖形化使用介面（GUI）連線
1. 使用已開啟 Wi-Fi 的裝置，如您的電腦 / 筆電 / 平板電腦
搜尋並連線到名為 ASUS_RPAC55/ASUS_RPAC55_5G 的
無線網路。
2. 開啟一個網頁瀏覽器並在地址欄中鍵入 http://repeater.asus.
com 以存取無線網路延伸器。
