Energy Saving on Monitor

ASUSmonitorsupportsenergysavingmode.Ifthemonitordoesnot

detecttheHorizontalsyncsignaland/orVerticalsyncsignal,itwillenter

energysaving(standby)mode.

Whenthemonitorentersenergysaving(standby)mode,thescreenwill

displayblankandthebacklightwillbeturnedoff,andthePowerLEDwill

light“amber”.

FortheindicationofEnergySaving(standby)mode,pleaserefertoyour

userguide.

Safety information

• Beforesettingupthemonitor,carefullyreadallthedocumentationthat

camewiththepackage.

• Topreventreorshockhazard,neverexposethemonitortorainor

moisture.

• Nevertrytoopenthemonitorcabinet.Thedangeroushighvoltages

insidethemonitormayresultinseriousphysicalinjury.

• Ifthepowersupplyisbroken,donottrytoxitbyyourself.Contacta

qualiedservicetechnicianoryourretailer.

• Beforeusingtheproduct,makesureallcablesarecorrectlyconnected

andthepowercablesarenotdamaged.Ifyoudetectanydamage,

contactyourdealerimmediately.

• Slotsandopeningsonthebackortopofthecabinetareprovidedfor

ventilation.Donotblocktheseslots.Neverplacethisproductnearor

over a radiator or heat source unless proper ventilation is provided.

• Themonitorshouldbeoperatedonlyfromthetypeofpowersource

indicatedonthelabel.Ifyouarenotsureofthetypeofpowersupplyto

yourhome,consultyourdealerorlocalpowercompany.

• Usetheappropriatepowerplugwhichcomplieswithyourlocalpower

standard.

• Donotoverloadpowerstripsandextensioncords.Overloadingcan

• Neverpushobjectsorspillliquidofanykindintotheslotsonthe

monitor cabinet.

• Toensuresatisfactoryoperation,usethemonitoronlywithULlisted

computerswhichhaveappropriateconguredreceptaclesmarked

between100-240VAC.

• Ifyouencountertechnicalproblemswiththemonitor,contacta

qualiedservicetechnicianoryourretailer.

Care & Cleaning

• Beforeyouliftorrepositionyourmonitor,itisbettertodisconnectthecables

andpowercord.Followthecorrectliftingtechniqueswhenpositioningthe

monitor.Whenliftingorcarryingthemonitor,grasptheedgesofthemonitor.

Donotliftthedisplaybythestandorthecord.

• Cleaning.Turnyourmonitoroffandunplugthepowercord.Cleanthemonitor

surfacewithalint-free,non-abrasivecloth.Stubbornstainsmayberemoved

with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.

• Avoidusingacleanercontainingalcoholoracetone.Useacleanerintended

forusewiththeLCD.Neverspraycleanerdirectlyonthescreen,asitmaydrip

insidethemonitorandcauseanelectricshock.

The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:

• Thescreenmayickerduringtheinitialuseduetothenatureoftheuorescent

light.TurnoffthePowerSwitchandturnitonagaintomakesurethatthe

ickerdisappears.

• Youmayndslightlyunevenbrightnessonthescreendependingonthe

desktoppatternyouuse.

• Whenthesameimageisdisplayedforhours,anafterimageoftheprevious

screenmayremainafterswitchingtheimage.Thescreenwillrecoverslowlyor

youcanturnoffthePowerSwitchforhours.

• Whenthescreenbecomesblackorashes,orcannotworkanymore,contact

yourdealerorservicecentertoxit.Donotrepairthescreenbyyourself!

1.3 Assembling the monitor base

To assemble the monitor base:

1. Have the front of the monitor face down on a table.

2. Insert the stand to the monitor which shows as below picture.

3. Connectthebasewiththemonitor.Aclickindicatesthatthebasehasbeen

connectedsuccessfully.

4. Adjustthemonitortotheanglethatismostcomfortableforyou.

Werecommendthatyoucoverthetablesurfacewithsoftclothtoprevent

damagetothemonitor.

1. Button:

• Usethishotkeytoswitchfromsixvideopresetmodes(SceneryMode,

StandardMode,TheaterMode,GameMode,NightViewMode,and

sRGBMode)withSPLENDID™VideoIntelligenceTechnology.

• ExittheOSDmenuorgobacktothepreviousmenuastheOSDmenu

is active.

2. Button:

• Press this button to decrease the value of the function selected or move

tothenextfunction.

• ThisisalsoahotkeyforContrastadjustment.

3. MENUButton:

• Pressthisbuttontoenter/selecttheicon(function)highlightedwhilethe

OSD menu is activated.

4. Button:

• Press this button to increase the value of the function selected or move

to the previous function.

• ThisisalsoahotkeyforBrightnessadjustment.

To detach the arm/stand:

1. Have the front of the monitor face down on a table.

2. Press the plastic release button on the rear of the monitor shows as below

picture.

3. Detach the stand from the monitor.

• Werecommendthatyoucoverthetablesurfacewithsoftclothtoprevent

damagetothemonitor.

• TheVESAwallmountkit(75x75mm)ispurchasedseparately.

• UseonlytheULListedWallMountBracketwithminimumweight/load
