1. Use only the voltage speciﬁed on the rating plate of the

appliance.

2. Keep all objects at least 1 meter from the front/sides of the

appliance. Do not place appliance close to other radiant heat

sources.

3. Do not operate in areas where petrol, paint or other ﬂammable

liquids are used or stored.

4. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation

or exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock, ﬁre or

damage to the appliance.

5. Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord, plug

or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or

damaged in any manner. Return to a qualiﬁed electrical person

for examination, electrical service or repair.

6. This appliance is intended for household use only and not for

commercial or industrial use.

7. Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other

use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause

ﬁre, electrical shock or injury.

8. The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or ﬂuff in

the appliance.

Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the

appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.

9. Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance.

Clean with a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water

only. Always removed plug from the mains supply before

cleaning.

10. Do not connect the appliance to mains voltage until completely

assembled and adjusted.

11. Switch off when moving.

12. Do not operate with cord set coiled up as a heat buildup is likely,

which could be sufﬁcient to become a hazard.

13. The use of an extension cord with this appliance is not

recommended.

14. Do not remove plug from power socket until the appliance has

been switched off.

15. Do not remove plug from power socket by pulling cord – always

grip plug.

16. Always unplug appliance when not in use.

17. Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance, as this

may cause the insulation to weaken and split.

18. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or inﬁrm

persons unless adequately supervised by a responsible person to

ensure that they can use the appliance safely.

19. Do not use this appliance in the immediate surrounds of a bath,

a shower, or a swimming pool or other liquids. The appliance

must not be immersed in any liquids.

20. When the appliance has been unpacked, check it for transport

damage and ensure all parts have been delivered. If parts are

missing or if the appliance has been damaged, contact the Arlec

Customer Service Team. (Refer to details on back page)

21. If your appliance does not work, or is not working properly,

contact the place of purchase or the Arlec Customer Services

Team. (Refer to details on back page). Repair work on the

appliance by unqualiﬁed persons can cause serious risk to the

user.

22. There are no user serviceable parts installed in the unit.

23. Do not dry clothes on the unit keep the clothing at least 50cm

away from the unit and do not allow water to drip onto the unit.

24. Do not put your ﬁngers or other articles into or near the air inlet

or outlet. Do not sit on the unit.

25. Do not place the unit in wardrobes or other enclosed spaces as

this may cause ﬁre hazards.

26. This unit is not supposed to be used in or around locations where

foodstuffs, works of art or delicate articles of science, etc are

stored.

27. Indoor use only.

28. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play

with the appliance

FREE STANDING

1. Ensure the heater is unplugged and power switches are off.

2. Set heater upside down.

3. Locater four holes at each end of the base of the heater.

4. Secure the foot plates to the base using the shorter screws provided.

5. Attach 2 castors to each foot plate securing them using a spanner.

6. Set heater upright and plug into a standard 230/240 volt AC electrical outlet.

WALL MOUNTED

1. Ensure the heater is unplugged and the power switches are off.

2. Position heater within one metre of a wall socket.

3. Detach the mounting bracket from the back of the panel heater by unscrewing

the 2 locking screws located on the top of the mounting bracket, and press

down on the 2 release tabs.

4. Position the mounting bracket on the wall and mark the hole positions with a

pencil and check they are horizontal with a spirit level. Ensure the two bottom

mount holes are at least 300mm from the ﬂoor and drill holes as required.

5. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall with the 4 longer mounting screws.

For masonry walls, use the plastic wall plugs provided.

6. Slot the back of the heater onto the mounting bracket locating the bottom

hooks ﬁrst and secure by tightening the two locking screws.

Check the panel heater is secure on the wall.

7. Plug into a standard 230/240 volt AC electrical outlet.

When slotting the panel heater onto the

wall mounting backet, locate and align

slot ‘A’ with point ‘a’ ﬁrst and slot ‘B’ with

point ’b’

CARE AND CLEANING

The heater requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble free operation:

Unplug the heater from mains supply before cleaning.

Use a rung out (damp) cloth to wipe the exterior of the heater to remove dust and

dirt.

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris from the inlet and outlet grills.

To clean behind the heater when mounted on the wall, unfasten the 2 locking screws

located on the top of the mounting bracket, press down on the 2 release catches on

the mounting bracket to tilt the heater forward. When the heater is tilted forward, it is

easier to clean behind it.

Otherwise the unit can be lifted clear of the bottom hooks. It is important to return the

heater to its original position after cleaning and to tighten the locking screws.

Ensure heater is dry before plugging back into the mains supply.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

This product has protective safeguards that shut off the product when parts become

in danger of overheating. If it does overheat, switch off your appliance and remove

the mains plug from the power socket. Allow your appliance to cool for at least 30

minutes. The appliance will function again when it has cooled down. Carefully check

for any obvious causes such as curtain or clothes that may have prevented air from

circulating through the appliance.

PROGRAMMING

Introduction

Your programmable Arlec panel heater will provide controlled background warmth

when you require it so as to minimize electricity usage. The heater is equipped with

an electronic thermostat and a 24 hour/7 day timer with 2 timer periods that control

the temperature within a set program.

• Comfort Period – refers to the time period when you want the heater to heat your

room to your desired temperature when you are present. The default temperature

setting for the “Comfort Period” is 22°C.

• Economy Period – refers to the time period when you are not present but would

like a minimal amount of heating so the room does not become completely cold.

The default temperature setting for the “Economy Period” is 17°C.

To switch the Economy Period heating off so that no energy is used between your

selected Comfort Periods it is necessary to change the Economy Period tempera-

ture setting to 5°C. Refer to Adjusting Program Settings.

For your convenience this heater is equipped with 12 pre set programs and one User

Program (UP).

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If the ON/OFF switch or Mains Power switch is turned off your personal settings or User

program (UP) will be retained, however, the clock will need to be reset to the correct

time.

QUICK START GUIDE

TO TURN ON Plug the heater into the

mains socket and operate

the ON/OFF switch “7” to I

and unscrew plastic cover.

The timer symbol and

day/time display will

ﬂash when used for the

ﬁrst time, or after being

turned off for an extended

period. The time must be

set for the heater to work.

SETTING THE TIMER

Day Press the TIMER button.

Use the DOWN “10” and

UP “11” buttons to set day.

The day will ﬂash.

The timer symbol will

be shown.

Hour Press the TIMER button.

Use the DOWN “10” and

UP “11” buttons to set day.

The hour number will

ﬂash.

Minutes Press the TIMER button.

Use the DOWN “10” and

UP “11” buttons to set

minutes.

The minute number will

ﬂash.

Clock Press the TIMER button to

exit setting.

Selecting a pre set

Important Note:

To switch the heater off during Economy Periods, the temperature needs to be set at

5°C.

PROGRAMMING A 24

HOUR DAY

Complete the

programming for the

whole 24 hour day with

Economy and Comfort

Periods.

Press timer button to

proceed to next day.

After programming the

full 24 hours, the timer will

display 00:00 (midnight).

The unit is now ready for

programming the next

24 hour day. You must

complete a 24 hour proﬁle

before it will take effect.

COPYING THE 24 HOUR

PROFILE

If the same 24 hour proﬁle

applies for several days in

the week. Press the TIMER

button “8” to select the day

to be copied.

-Press the COPY button “9”.

-Press the TIMER button “8”

to the desired day.

-Press the COPY button “9”

to complete.

“COPY” will be shown and

the “day” will ﬂash.

This will display the day

that you wish to copy the

program. The “day” will

ﬂash.

The word “COPY” will

disappear and the “day”

will stop ﬂashing.

ENDING THE PROGRAMING Press the “PROG” button. Will show the current

program.

to conﬁrm the temperature

setting.

The factory default Economy

temperature is 17°C.

The Economy temperature

cannot be set less than

5°C below the Comfort

temperature. To turn off the

Economy Period heating set

to 5°C.

ALTERING THE USER PROGRAM

FOR THE WEEK

Press the program p selection

button “5”.

Use the UP and DOWN buttons

to select the “UP” program.

The program “UP” will ﬂash

Press the program p selection

button “5”

The program “UP” will stop

ﬂashing.

Press the program PROG button

“6” to open the program.

Make the required alterations

to Economy and Comfort

periods as described in “SETTING

THE USER PROGRAM FOR THE

WEEK”.

It is necessary to alter a

complete 24-hour proﬁle for

changes to take effect.

ADJUSTING FOR DAYLIGHT

SAVINGS

Press the TIMER button twice. The “hour” will ﬂash.

Summer: Press the UP button

“11” to advance 1 hour.

Winter: Press the DOWN button

“10” to set the timer clock back

1 hour.

Press the TIMER button “9” twice

to terminate operation.

The current program will be

displayed on the control panel.

LOCK THE CONTROL PANEL Electronic Locking: Press the

Program Selection P Button “5”

The program type will ﬂash.

Press the program “PROG”

button “6” and TIMER button

“8” simultaneously.

The lock symbol (a padlock) is

displayed and buttons will not

operate.

Repeat the above step to

unlock the controls.

The lock symbol (a padlock)

will disappear and buttons will

operate again.

Mechanical locking/unlocking:

Screw/unscrew the tamper

screw located on the cover of

the control panel.
