General Safety Instructions
• Before commissioning this appliance, please read the
instruction manual carefully.
• Please keep these instructions as well as the guarantee
certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the box and
inner packaging.
• The appliance is intended exclusively for private use, not for
commercial use.
• Always remove the plug from the mains socket when the
appliance is not in use, when attaching accessory parts,
when cleaning the appliance or whenever you are
interrupted. Switch off the appliance before unplugging it.
Pull on the plug, not on the cable.
• In order to protect children from the dangers associated with
electrical devices, never leave children unsupervised with
the appliance. Select a location for the appliance that
ensures children cannot gain access to it. Make sure the
cable does not hang down.
• Test the appliance and its cable regularly for damage. If
there is damage of any kind, the appliance should not be
used.
• Do not repair the appliance yourself but take it to the nearest
authorised service centre.
• Keep the appliance and the cable away from heat, direct
sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and such like.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use. Switch
off the appliance whenever you are away from it, even if it
is only for a moment.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Under no circumstances must the appliance be placed in
water or other liquids or come into contact with them. Do not
use the appliance with wet or damp hands.
• If the appliance becomes wet or damp, remove the plug
from the mains socket immediately. Do not touch the water.
• Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
• Exposed surfaces of the appliance may become very hot
when it is operating.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of
an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• Warning: The surfaces of the appliance are liable to become
hot during use.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 years and
supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children
less than 8 years.
• The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of
damage, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance must
not be used.
• The instruction shall include details on how to clean
surfaces in contact with food.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of
an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• This appliance must not be immersed under water
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and
similar applications such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments
- Farm houses
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments
- Bed and breakfast type environments
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
CAUTION: To avoid danger due to inadvertent resetting of the
thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied with
electricity through an external switching device, such as a
timer, and must not be connected to a circuit that is regularly
switched on and off by the electricity supplier.
Special safety notes
• The baking surfaces become very hot. Only touch the
handles.
• Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface or mat.
• In order to prevent heat from building up, do not place the
appliance directly under a cupboard. Ensure that there is
enough space all around the appliance.
• Beware of steam coming out when you open the baking
section.
• The Cooking food items such as burgers, boneless pieces
of meat or thin cuts of meat or vegetables can easily burn,
so never use the appliance near or below curtains or other
flammable materials.
• All electrical appliances present a risk of fire or electric
shock, which may cause personal injury or death. Please
follow all safety instructions.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or their service agent or a similarly qualified
person in order to avoid hazards.
• Exposed surfaces of the appliance may become very hot
when it is operating.
• Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not come into
contact with or be allowed in the vicinity of this appliance.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
Starting-up the appliance
• NON-STICK COATING
Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used
for the first time. Use the appliance for about 10 minutes
with burgers, boneless pieces of meat, thin cuts of meat or
vegetables, keeping the surfaces closed (see “Using the
unit”), then wipe it down with a damp cloth.
• Please do not eat the first food items that you make with the
appliance.
Using the unit
1. Place the appliance on a flat heatproof surface, close to a
220-240V mains socket.
2. Plug into the mains socket. The red ‘Power’ light will come
on and the green ‘Ready’ light will be off. Preheat until the
green ‘Ready’ light comes on. NOTE: Once the appliance is
preheated, the green ‘Ready’ light will come on and go off as
the thermostat regulates the temperature.
3. Place burgers, boneless pieces of meat, thin cuts of meat or
vegetables on the bottom cooking plate and close the top
cooking plate. The floating hinge will adjust to the height of
the cooking items, and the weight of the top plate will
gradually and evenly press the food down during cooking.
4. The cooking time will depend on the type and thickness of
the food items to be cooked. Check whether the food is
ready by lifting the top plate by the handle. NOTE: All parts
of the appliance, except the handle, will be very hot during
and after cooking. Do not touch any parts of the appliance
except the handle until it has cooled down.
5. When cooking is complete, remove the food items using a
plastic spatula (individually). Never use metal utensils as
they may scratch the non-stick cooking plates.
HINTS
1. Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it from the mains
socket and allow it to cool.
2. Stubborn build-up: Use a non-metallic scrubbing pad to
clean the plates
3. Cleaning the exterior: Wipe with a warm, wet sponge and
dry with a soft, dry cloth.
4. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive cleaners
on any part of the appliance.
5. DO NOT IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
6. Any servicing that requires disassembly must be performed
by a qualified electrician.
7. In order to prevent accidental closing of the appliance and
resulting injury, make sure that you hold the top cover (lid)
with your hand while cleaning the appliance.
Cleaning
Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and allow it to cool down.
Never place the appliance in water or under running water.
To clean the exterior of the appliance, use a damp sponge and dry
it carefully afterwards.
To clean the plates, use a damp sponge with washing up liquid.
Rinse and dry them with care.
If there is any food matter stuck to the plate, it is advisable to soften
it with vegetable oil and wait 5 minutes before trying again to
remove it.
Never use a scouring pad or scouring powder on the appliance.
Storage
Wind the power cable around the appliance and store it vertically
to save space.
This appliance conforms to the CE directives for radio interference
suppression and low-voltage safety, and has been built to meet
current safety requirements. The appliance is subject to technical
changes without prior notice.
Warranty Information
The manufacturer provides warranty in accordance with the
legislation of the customer's own country of residence, with a
minimum of 1 year (Germany: 2 years), starting from the date on
which the appliance is sold to the end user.
The warranty only covers defects in material or workmanship.
The repairs under warranty may only be carried out by an
authorised service centre. When making a claim under the
warranty, the original bill of purchase (with purchase date) must be
submitted.
The warranty will not apply in cases of:
- Normal wear and tear
- Incorrect use, e.g. overloading of the appliance, use of non-
approved accessories
- Use of force, damage caused by external influences
- Damage caused by non-observance of the user manual, e.g.
connection to an unsuitable mains supply or non-compliance
with the installation instructions
- Partially or completely dismantled appliances

Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
• Bitte lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung vor der
Verwendung des Geräts sorgfältig.
• Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung, den Garantieschein, die
Quittung und nach Möglichkeit den Karton mit
Innenverpackung auf!
• Das Gerät ist ausschließlich für den privaten, nicht
kommerziellen Gebrauch bestimmt!
• Ziehen Sie immer den Stecker aus der Steckdose, wenn
das Gerät nicht benutzt wird, wenn Sie Zubehörteile
anbringen, das Gerät reinigen oder falls eine Störung
auftritt. Schalten Sie das Gerät vorher aus. Ziehen Sie am
Stecker, nicht am Kabel.
• Lassen Sie Kinder keinesfalls unbeaufsichtigt mit dem
Gerät, um sie vor den Gefahren elektrischer Geräte zu
schützen. Wählen Sie deshalb den Standort für das Gerät
so, dass Kinder keinen Zugriff auf das Gerät haben. Achten
Sie darauf, dass das Kabel nicht herunterhängt.

Schalten Sie das Gerät aus, wenn Sie es nicht benutzen,
auch wenn dies nur für einen Moment ist.

GEFAHR: Um eine Gefährdung durch unbeabsichtigtes
Zurücksetzen des Temperaturbegrenzers zu vermeiden, darf
das Gerät nicht über einen externen Schalter betrieben
werden, beispielsweise eine Zeitschaltuhr, oder an einen
Schaltkreis angeschlossen werden, der regelmäßig ein- und
ausgeschaltet wird.
Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Grillflächen werden sehr heiß. Berühren Sie nur die
Griffe.
• Stellen Sie das Gerät nur auf eine hitzebeständige
Oberfläche oder Unterlage.
• Um einen Wärmestau zu vermeiden, stellen Sie das Gerät
nicht direkt unter einen Schrank. Stellen Sie sicher, dass um
das gesamte Gerät ausreichend Platz vorhanden ist.
• Achten Sie auf austretenden Dampf, wenn Sie den
Grillbereich öffnen.
• Hamburger, Fleischstücke ohne Knochen, dünne
Fleischstücke und Gemüse kann anbrennen! Verwenden
Sie den Grill deshalb keinesfalls in der Nähe von Vorhängen
und anderen brennbaren Materialien!
• Bei allen Elektrogeräten besteht die Gefahr von Feuer und
Stromschlägen, die zu Verletzungen oder zum Tod führen
können. Bitte befolgen Sie alle Sicherheitshinweise.
• Falls das Netzkabel beschädigt ist, muss dieses durch den
Hersteller, dessen Kundendienst oder eine ähnlich
qualifizierte Person ersetzt werden, um mögliche Gefahren
zu vermeiden.
• Die zugänglichen Oberflächen können heiß sein, wenn das
Gerät in Betrieb ist.
• Holzkohle oder ähnliche Brennstoffe dürfen mit diesem
Gerät nicht verwendet werden.
• Dieses Gerät ist nicht für Kinder und Personen mit
eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen
Fähigkeiten oder mangelnder Erfahrung und Kenntnissen

Inbetriebnahme des Geräts
• ANTI-HAFT-BESCHICHTUNG
• Fetten Sie die Grillflächen leicht ein, bevor Sie das Gerät
zum ersten Mal verwenden. Benutzen Sie das Gerät für
etwa 10 Minuten mit geschlossenen Grillflächen, legen Sie
dabei Hamburger, Fleischstücke ohne Knochen, dünne
Fleischstücke oder Gemüse auf die Grillfläche (siehe
„Verwenden des Geräts“). Wischen Sie die Grillflächen
anschließend mit einem feuchten Tuch ab.
