1.) Information – read carefully
Themanual(1.1“Generalinstructions”,and1.2“Product-specic
instructions”) must be available in the national language at all
times.Ifnotavailable,thenthevendorhastoresolvethismatter
with SKYLOTEC prior to sale. The instructions must be made
available to the user. The equipment may only be used by
professionaluserswhoareingoodcondition,bothmentallyand
physically,whohavereceivedtraininginitssafeusageandwho
possesstherequiredknowledge,orareactingunderthesupervision
ofsuchpersons.Arescueplanmustbeavailableforanyeventuality.
It must be possible to implement rescue measures in a timely
manner.
2.) Fall-arrest system
Afall-arrestsystemconsistsoftheillustratedindividualcomponents
andmayonlybeusedwithtestedandapprovedcomponentsunder
thedescribedapplicationconditions;failuretocomplyrepresentsa
risk of serious or fatal injury. Only one harness is allowed to be
usedinthefall-arrestsystem(withfallarrestingeyeletmarked“A”).
Anchoringpointsshouldbeselect/positiondirectlyabovetheuser,
ifpossible.Restrictthefallingheighttoaminimumdistance.The
anchor point must meet the requirements for the scope of
application (Abb. 1+2). Also, the substructure to which the
anchoringdeviceisfastened,andtheconnectingelementshaveto
beabletowithstandtheload.Ashockabsorbingelementmustbe
usedwhichlimitstheforcetowhichontheuserisexposedinthe
eventofafalltothemaximumarrestingforcepermittedaccording
tonationalregulations,forexampleinEuropethisis6kN(EN355).
Formoreinformationonthis,seetheinstructionsforusingofthe
individualcomponents.
3.) Prior to use
Priortoeachuse,ithastobeensuredthattheclearancebeneath
theuserissufcient,sothatincaseofafall,therewillbenoimpact
withtheground,objects,orequipmentbelow.
3.1.)Checkthecompletepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)and
itsindividualcomponentsfordamage,cracksorwear(including
snaphooks, straps, textile and metal components, adjusting
devices,locks);completefunctionmustbeassured.Ifunsurethe

component is in a safe condition, immediately remove the
componentinquestion.
3.2.)Theequipmentmustbeimmediatelyremovedfromservice
after a fall and checked by an expert. Use is subject to the written
consent of an approved person. If the equipment is no longer
suitable
foruse,itmustbedisposedof.
4.) Safety requirements
Theinstructionsonprotectingtheuserandtheequipmentmustbe
strictlycompliedwith!Theproductlabelmustbecompletelylegible!
Ifthisisnotthecase,theproductisnolongersuitableforuse!In
ordertoavoidasuspensiontraumaincaseofafall,theremustbe
anrescueplanavailablethatisdesignedtoreducetheamountof
time suspended while wearing a harness, and consequently to
preventacirculatorycollapse.SKYLOTECsuspensionreliefstraps
canbeusedtoprovideprotectionagainstthis.Itisanimportant
requirementfortheusertocheckallattachmentand/oradjustment
parts regularly during use.

5.) Inspection and service life
A regular review of local regulations is required. In Europe, for
example,anannualauditbyanexpertisnecessary(see5.1).The
replacementstatedependsontheproduct,itsfrequencyofuse
and the external application conditions. All PPE unavoidably loses
durability over the course of its service life. This is accelerated by
UVrays,heat,chemicals,aggressiveatmospheres,dirt.
6.) Maintenance and storage
Themanufacturer’sliabilityfordefectiveproductsdoesnotinclude
damagetopropertyorpersonalinjuries,whichcanoccurevenfor
proper functioning and correct application of personal fall protection
equipment.ThisManufacturer‘sliabilitywillberenderednulland
void, if the equipment is modied, or local regulations are not
compliedwithorfollowed,ortheequipment/componentinstructions
arenotmadeavailabletotheuserindividuallybytheCompetent
Person.Itisimperativetocarryoutavisualandfunctionalcheck
ofallfallprotectioncomponents(otherthanemergencyorsealed
