• Working with wood may be dangerous if not performed properly.

• Protective equipment such as covers, supports, clamps, protective eyeglasses, dust lters, and ear plugs cannot
compensate for poor judgment, carelessness, or lack of attention.
• Remember: You are responsible for your own safety. The saw has been designed for specic tasks. We strongly
recommend that you do not modify the saw or use it for anything other than the tasks it is intended for.
• DO NOT USE THE SAW if you are uncertain if it can or should be used for the purpose you have intended.
General safety instructions
Portable Power Tools
Caution: When using electric tools, the following safety rules should always be adhered to in order to avoid the
risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury:
1. Keep the work area clean.
Cluttered surfaces and tables may cause accidents.
2. Do not use the machine in a hazardous environment.
Do not expose the tool to rain; do not use them in damp or wet areas. Keep the work area well lit. Do not use the
tools close to ammable uids or gases.
3. Avoid electric shock.
Avoid physical contact with grounded items such as water lines, radiators, kitchen stoves, etc. while using electric
tool.
4. Keep away from children and spectators.
All children and visitors should be at a safe distance from electric tool or electric cables in the work area.
5. Store the machine out of the reach of children.
Store electric machines/tools locked up or out of the reach of children while not in use.
6. Do not force the machine.
It will do the job better and safer at the intended feeding speed.
7. Use the appropriate tools.
Do not force a tool or an attachment to perform a task it is not intended for.
8. Wear appropriate clothing.
No loose fitting clothes, mittens, necklaces, rings, bracelets, or other jewellery that may become entangled in
rotating parts. Non-slip shoes are recommended. Wear a hairnet or similar if your hair is long.
9. Always wear protective equipment.
Always wear protective eyeglasses, regular eyeglasses are insufcient. Also use dust lters or a protective masks
when performing dusty tasks.
10. Use suction.
Use suction equipment to remove and collect sawdust and wood shavings, if the machine is intended for this
purpose, and make sure that the equipment is used correctly and emptied as needed.
Caution: Sawdust and shavings from certain kinds of wood and wood products may be harmful to your health after
only a short period of exposure.
11. Do not misuse the power cord.
Never carry the machine in its cord. Do not pull the cord; instead unplug the device when turning off the power.
Make sure that the cord does not come in contact with heat, oil, or sharp edges.
12. Fasten the work piece securely.

Use clamps or screw clamps where possible to allow you to handle the work piece with both hands. This is safer
than holding the work piece with one hand.
13. Do not reach too far.
Make sure you always stand rmly and well-balanced.
14. Maintain the tools.
Make sure they are clean and that the blades are sharp to achieve the optimal effect and a safe result. Follow the
recommendations in the manual pertaining to lubricating and replacement of parts. Check the power cord regularly,
and if it is damaged it should be replaced by a qualied service technician. Check all extension cords regularly to
make sure they are not damaged. Make sure the handles of the machine/tool and levers are clean, dry, and com-
pletely free of oil, grease, etc.
15. Turn off the power.
Unplug the device and push the emergency brake, if there is one, before service and when replacing parts such as
planing steel, drills, edges, grinding parts, or blades.
16. Remove all keys and service tools.
Make it a habit to verify that all keys and service tools are removed from the machine before turning on the power.
17. Avoid unintentional start.
Do not carry a tool with your nger on the trigger if it is plugged in. Make sure the trigger is OFF when plugging in the
device.
18. Use the correct extension cords.
If using extension cords outdoors, use only those intended for outdoor use. Use extension cords with sufcient
range, unroll the entire cord.
19. Use common sense and caution.
Think through each task before performing it, so that it is performed in a safe manner. Never use the tool when you
are tired, under the inuence of medication, etc.
20. Make sure that all parts are undamaged.
Before starting the tool, make sure that:
• All covers and additional parts are undamaged and operate correctly.
• That movable parts can rotate freely and are aimed in the right direction.
• That no moveable parts can get caught.
• That no defect has occurred.
• Other circumstances that may affect the operation of the task.
• A damaged cover or other part should be repaired by a qualied technician or replaced. Damaged power cords and
power switches must always be replaced by a qualied technician. Never use the tool if you are unable to switch it off
or start it in a safe manner.
21. Use recommended accessories.
The use of not recommended attachments may cause accidents or personal injury.
22. Repair by a qualied technician.
The tool complies with all safety regulations. Repairs of the tool must always be performed by a qualied profes-
sional, using original parts, or the tool may cause accidents or personal injury.
Special safety rules for the Compound Mitre Saw
Caution: Unplug the power cord before service or when replacing a blade.
Make sure that all parts operate properly and that the safety features protect as intended before starting the saw.
1. Caution: Use only cutting blades. Make sure that the hard metal blades have negative teeth. Do not use blades with
deep spaces between the teeth as such can bend and come in contact with the blade guard. A damaged saw blade
must be replaced immediately.
2. Do not use the saw until it is completely and accurately assembled according to this operations manual. Verify the
rotation direction of the motor and the blade (see the rotation arrow on the blade guard.) Make certain that the saw
blade does not touch the rotation table in any setting. Unplug the power cord and lean the saw blade manually at 45°
and 90°. Adjust if needed.
3. Unless you understand how the saw is to be used, you should ask a knowledgeable person for advice.
4. Never saw by hand. Fasten the work piece securely against the fence in an appropriate manner before beginning
to saw. If the work piece you are sawing requires that you keep your hand as close as 10 cm from the blade, you
should always lock the work piece in place with a clamp or similar before sawing.
5. Caution: Keep your hands clear of the saw blade. Never cut small pieces. Use supports.
6. Make sure that the blade is well centred, sharp, and runs freely without vibrating.
7. Let the motor pick up speed before beginning to saw.
8. Keep the ventilation openings of the motor clean and free of sawdust.

9. Always make sure that all clamp screws are tight before beginning to saw, even if the table is xed at a rm angle.
10. Make sure that the blade and the anges are clean and that the spindle nut is tight, use only the blade anges that
belong to your particular saw.
12. Use only blades 254 mm in diameter and the right speed classication (at least 6000 rpm)
13. Use proper extra support when sawing long work pieces.
14. Before sawing, always make sure that the blade is not cracked or damaged. Such blade should immediately be
replaced.
15. Do not use the saw if any component to the saw is missing, damaged, or faulty, unplug the power cord to the saw if
it starts making a strange noise or vibrating. Let a professional replace the missing or damaged component before
you use the saw again.
16. Never use the saw if the covers are not in place or do not work problem-free.
17. Never reach around or behind the blade while it rotates. Stand rmly so that you can always keep your balance.
18. Make sure that the blade can rotate freely (especially after transport and/or blade replacement) before plugging in
the saw and starting it.
19. Never lock the switch in the ON position.
21. Caution: When you have cut clear through the work piece, release the power switch and wait until the blade has
stopped rotating before lifting up the saw head.
22. Release the power switch and wait until the blade has stopped before moving the work piece or changing settings.
23. Do not remove stuck or cut-off pieces until the blade has stopped.
24. Never saw through ferriferous metals or through brick or mortar.
25. Never use the saw in the proximity of highly inammable gases or liquids.
26. Never clean the plastic parts of the saw with a dissolvent. Dissolvents may melt the plastic or damage the material
in other ways. Only clean with a soft, damp cloth.
27. Unplug the power cord and clean the saw before leaving it. Make sure that the work space is clean when nishing
the work.
28. Save this operations manual. Read through it often and use it to instruct others. Make sure that all persons using
the saw read these instructions.
29. Do not expose the saw to rain and do not use it in damp environments.
30. Arrange for good lighting in the work area.
31. Use suitable work clothes. Loose tting clothing or jewellery may get caught in the rotating parts.
32. A user should be at least 18 years of age. Users below the age of 16 should be supervised by an instructor while
using the saw. Keep children away from the saw while it is connected to a power source.
33. Keep your work place tidy and do not allow debris or other garbage to be present unnecessarily. Make sure that the
waste can be removed from the saw blade, or it may be dispersed by the saw blade.
34. Do not distract people operating the saw.
35. Do not attempt to stop the blade by pushing something against the side of the blade after you have turned off the
power to the saw.
36. Never use saw blades that do not correspond to the specications in the manual.
37. It is important to check that all blade guards covering the saw blade are functioning well.
38. Never lock the protective cover in an open position and never disassemble the cover of the machine and do not
change its function. Never use a damaged or faulty safety device, but replace it immediately.
39. Be sure to place your hands safely, so that they do not slip in under the saw blade if you lose your balance. Never
saw through work pieces so small that they cannot be held safely.
40. Use a table, roll-stop, etc. as support when working with long work pieces, so that the machine does not tip over.
41. Clamp round work pieces with appropriate devices, so that they cannot rotate.
42. Never saw through work pieces containing nails or other foreign objects.
43. Always stand at the side of the saw blade while the machine is in use, so that the blade does not strike you if it
should brake.
44. Always press the work piece against the table and the fastening device so that it cannot turn or move during the
sawing.
45. Never saw through several work pieces simultaneously.
46. Never try to remove dust, akes, or wood that has attached itself while the blade is rotating. If you must adjust the

machine or remove debris, always rst turn the machine off and unplug it.
47. Always turn the machine off and unplug it before changing, adjusting, or cleaning the machine, or measuring the
work piece to be sawed.
48. Turn the machine off and unplug it before leaving the work place.
49. Electric installation, repairs, and maintenance should only be performed by a professional.
50. All covers and safety devices must be restored immediately after repair or maintenance.
51. It is important to adhere to the safety, use, and maintenance instructions of the manufacturer, as well as to adhere to
the dimension instructions indicated in “technical data.”
52. It is necessary to adhere to the rules of the Labour Protection Board as well as other general safety rules.
53. Only use the machine with dust suction in a closed room, if the room has inowing air, to avoid creating a vacuum in
the room.
54. The saw should only be connected to sockets with 230V secured with at least 10 A.
55. Damaged safety devices and parts must be replaced or repaired by a professional at an authorized service facility.
56. This machine complies with all relevant safety regulation. The machine must only be repaired by a professional at
an authorized service facility using original spare parts. Unless you adhere to this rule, it may lead to accidents and
expose the user to danger.

Use ear plug!
There is a risk of impaired hearing. Always use ear plugs when operating the machine.
Use protective eyeglasses!
Protect your eyes from ying debris and use protective eyeglasses or a visor.

Use protective shoes with a steel toe that protect against falling objects.
Keep visitors away from the proximity of the machine!
Keep children, pets, and spectators a minimum of 5 metres away from the risk zone of the machine.
Caution: Be attentive, keep your hands away from the proximity of the saw blade!
There is a risk of injury during contact with rotating saw blade, also at a low speed.
Do not use the help of assistants, unless necessary!
It is prohibited for people other than the machine operator to be present in the risk zone of the machine.
Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source before cleaning and service!
Read this manual thoroughly and think through the information provided. Use the manual to acquaint yourself with the
machine, its use and safety rules.
Even if the machine is used completely according to the directions, it is impossible to eliminate all potential risks. The
construction and use of the machine may be the cause of the following risks when the saw is in use:
• Contact with the saw blade where the cover does not reach.
• Contact with a rotating saw blade (cut injury.)
• The work piece being sawed or parts thereof being thrown backwards to the user (kickback.)
• Breeches on the saw blade.
• Hard metal cuttings may come loose and be expelled out.
• Hearing loss may occur if no ear plugs are used.
• Harmful dust may cause injury in poorly ventilated areas.

Measures to take before putting the machine to use
• The machine must be assembled rmly on a work bench or stand, or similar.
• All covers and safety devices must be correctly installed before starting the machine.
• The saw blade must be permitted to run freely in all settings.
• When working with pre-used wood, you must be attentive of and look for foreign objects in the work piece such as
nails and screws.
• Before starting the machine, verify that the blade is correctly installed and that all moveable parts operate freely.
• Before connecting the machine to an electric socket, you should make sure that it is made for the same voltage as
you have in the socket.
Cutting
Cutting with the blade at an angle of 0°
When cutting work pieces up to 140 mm wide, the sliding feature of the saw is not needed and the saw can be locked
in its back setting with the locking knob (14). When cutting work pieces wider than 140 mm, check that the locking knob
(14) is loosened and that the saw head (4) is moveable before beginning to cut.
1. Release the saw head (4) to its upper setting by removing the locking device (16).
2. Move the saw head (4) backwards with the handle (2) and x it in this position if needed (depending on the width of
the work piece being cut.)
3. Place the work piece being cut against the fence (7) on the mitre plate (8).
4. Fasten it with the clamp (19) to the bottom plate to prevent the work piece from giving way during the cutting.
5. Press the power switch (3) to start the motor, press the release lever and calmly and evenly bring down the handle
(2) and let the saw blade cut the work piece.
6. After nishing cutting: Release the power switch (3) and when the motor has stopped, the saw head (4) can be
brought to its upper position.
Caution: The balance springs of the machine will automatically press the saw head upwards after cutting. Thus, do not
release the handle (2) after nishing cutting, hold the handle and brake carefully when the saw head springs upwards.

4
Cutting with the blade at an angle of 0° - 45°
You can cut at an angle of 0°- 45° with this saw.
1. Loosen the locking lever (13) after which the blade can be leaned in the desired angle with the help of the scale (15).
2. Pull the locking lever (13) tight.
3. Cut according to the directions above.
Adjustment of the 0° and 45° angles
1. Loosen the locking lever (13) and angle to saw towards position 0°.
2. Verify the angle between the blade and the saw table with a 90° mould.
3. If needed, adjust the bottom position with the adjustment screw (24) by loosening the nut and adjusting the screw, x
the screw after the adjustment by tightening the nut again.
4. When adjusting the 45° bottom position, do as described above, however, adjust with adjustment screw (25) and use
a 45° mould.
Mitre sawing
Mitre sawing - 45° / 0° / + 45°
You can mitre saw with this saw at an angle of
- 45° / 0° / + 45°.
1. Release the saw head (4) to its upper
position by removing the locking device (16).
2. Release the locking knob (10) and adjust to
the desired mitre angle with the aid of the
scale (12.)
3. Tighten the locking knob (10) and cut
according to the directions above.

Sawing of circular work pieces
When cutting flat items, it is necessary to check if the item is bent. Turn it as in Illustration 36, otherwise the item will
pinch the blade at the end of the cutting.
Dust bag
The saw contains a dust bag (23). It can be emptied by opening the zipper at the bottom. You may also use dust
suction.
Replacing the saw blade
1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the locking device (16) and release the saw head
carefully.
3. Loosen the screws (21) and fold away the blade guard (6).
4. Press the spindle lock (17) with one hand and turn the blade
with the other until the blade is locked, keep the spindle lock
pressed and use a key to loosen the blade bolt (turn clockwise).
5. Remove the blade bolt and the outer blade ange completely.
6. Remove the saw blade from the inner blade ange and take out the saw blade.
7. Install the new saw blade in the opposite order.
8. Be careful to clean the blade ange and bolt before installing. The rotation direction of the saw blade must
correspond to the arrow on the saw house.
9. Install the sliding blade guard (6) in the opposite order.
10. Make sure that the spindle lock is released.
11. Check that all covers are correctly installed and functioning well before the saw is started.
Note: The spindle has a diameter of 16 mm and an inset ring is installed together with the original blade which has an
inside diameter of 25.4 mm – Blades with both 16 and 25.4 mm inside diameter can be used.
Caution: Always make sure that the blade runs freely in all possible settings after you have replaced the saw blade.
Caution: Remove the key and loosen the spindle lock before the machine is started.

Inspection and replacement of carbon brushes
Caution: Unplug the power cord before inspecting the carbon brushes.
The life expectancy of the carbon brushes varies depending on the usage of the motor. Check them after 50 machine
hours if the saw is new or if you have replaced the brushes. After the rst inspection, check them after every tenth machi-
ne hour until it is time for new brushes.
Check the brushes in the following manner:
1. Remove the two lids (18), one on each side of the motor.
2. The carbon brushes are placed inside the lids, pull out the carbon
brushes.
3. Check the length of the brushes (at least 6 mm).
4. Replace both carbon brushes if either one is below 6 mm or if any
spring or shunt thread is burnt or damaged in any way.
Trouble shooting when there is a problem with the motor
1. To avoid overheating the motor, you should regularly blow the machine clean or vacuum it so that sawdust and
shavings do not affect the cooling.
2. Connect the saw to an earthed outlet secured with at least a 10A fuse.
3. Immediately release the power switch if the motor does not start right up. Unplug the power cord, check that the
blade runs freely; try starting the motor again if it runs freely.
4. If the motor stops during sawing: Immediately release the power switch and unplug the power cord, release the
blade from the work piece, then try to start the motor again.
5. Check connections, overload (several units connected to the same fuse, spotlights, etc.), range (at least 1.5 mm² up
to 7 metre length, at least 2 mm² at 7 to 15 metres length), cable length (no more than 15 metres.)
